Starting to play the lad is a good step towards keeping him. Really frustrating some of the young lads not getting more/any time last couple of seasons, why wouldn't they leave? Hopefully the start of things to come with the young uns buying into what we're doing and a fair chance on the pitch if they deserve it. I've not felt so happy after a defeat for a while, lots of good signs and long season ahead
Why? We were warned he was an absolute sick note. No surprises here. No doubt comes back for a few games then out injured again.
LJ has some big decisions to make in midfield Neil was class tonight embleton on the ball is growing in confidence and you can’t fault Oniens energy but we missed Evans cool head and positional sense Nice problem to have just have to come up with a winning formula
He looks more right sided, appreciate we didn’t see a lot of him tonight and he was unlucky with his shot the ‘keeper makes a very good save. I would someone who gets to the byline and crosses or at least gets the defenders turned. Them last 15 minutes were quite predictable I felt
I think we will be ok this season. Just a hunch, but it's going to be exciting to see how it pans out.
Neil a real positive in the middle of the park tonight and I thought O’Nien was excellent defensively but Evans will be a miss whilst he is out. Plenty positive signs after 3 league games, though.
He will play more left and come in from left. Where he has played most of his games. Gooch was needed at left back so Broadhead got out out on the right side.
Fair play I haven’t seen anything of him if I’m honest but he looked sharp when he got into it and once Cirkin can do the 90 I don’t think left side will be a massive issue he looked to get in early on and was a real threat down that side, would be nice to have another option down that side for me
He was top drawer tonight and is always looking for a forward pass. Our bad spell coincided with us missing out midfield too often. He needs to start CM. We look much stronger with him there.
RB definitely, plus cover for both (**** knows what Hume is doing). And I'd still like another up top because I think Grigg will be away.
Always a hard call but I think McGeady was off kilter tonight and maybe Broadhead could have got on for him sooner. Not sure he’s fit. Embleton neat but not incisive tonight (though if Stewart hadn’t cut his toenails we might think differently). Gooch is a threat but them near post dinks not working.
