Baz may just be right... He's one of the 2 I mentioned the other day. We asked about him earlier in the window but it went quiet.
That’s a big gamble on another rookie. He may be brilliant, I’d have personally preferred someone with experience.
All of us, including grant would have...but there just isn't experience available in the pool we are fishing in unfortunately.
Honestly, I’d rather have kept James Scott. His best position is as a 9. Yet we haven’t even tried him as a 9. Madness.
I think for him personally, the move back north was needed, he's had an absolute nightmare since arriving and this should sort a few things out with him and we will see the benefit of it next season hopefully ( his finishing just isn't matched at the club currently )
Madness is thinking Scott has what it takes in this division. I hear he spent lots on domino pizza home deliveries.....
I think he does. Instead we’re looking at signing a kid from Sheff United that must be their 6th choice striker.
I agree, he definitely does. Sometimes though you need to take a step sideways to go forwards. His head needed the move back north for a couple of reasons. I feel both us as a club and him as a player will benefit massively from it in the longer term. It's obviously not ideal or what either party wanted or imagined when he signed.
I think Scott has potential to be a decent player and has his entire career ahead of him. He’s had setbacks whilst at City and needs a confidence boost so a move back to Scotland could be exactly what he needs. And I share the sentiments of other posters regarding how he’s been utilised with us. His old manager at Motherwell said he’s a natural number 9 so I don’t know why we never used him there.
Purely from YouTube, Tyler Smith looks quick and mobile with good ball control and looks to play through the middle. So different to Magennis or Eaves. I also notice that the strikers ahead of him on the bench for Sheffield Utd yesterday were Sharpe and McGoldrick. Maybe not so shabby.
