My comment was a little tongue in cheek but I remember start of last season, Emmanuel was 'undroppable', first name on the teamsheet, etc. Until Coyle was fit.

That's exactly why you should never make players promises when you sign them...

I'd give Hudd all three spots if it was allowed. There's something really special about watching a top quality player in the autumn of his career. He's done all he can. No further lofty ambitions to be fulfilled. Just playing and clearly enjoying playing. What a sublime footballer he is.

    HUDD
DOCHERTY (Would have been Ingram if voting at HT but second period put paid to that)

Jones is a far superior defender than Bernard. All I can say about Bernard is that he looked the best of an ordinary bunch of new boys yesterday. He was OK but that's it.

    1- The Doc
    2- Huddz
    3-Big Dish

Plenty of hope that this team will be good enough to stay up.

Doc - at the heart of everything good - in both halves of the pitch.
Bernard - assured on the ball throughout - oozes class.
Ingram - dicey clearances at times but stopped 3.

    Special mentions:

Coyle - whoever said he can't cross is talking ****e.

    Hudds - brought a calmness we've lacked.

KLP - stayed in touch with his fullback and stopped the overload down their right as well as contributing going forward - if a little less decisive on the front foot.

Wonder why Jones isn't currently on loan from one of the biggest clubs in the world and was available for free from a Premier league also-ran then...?

'Ordinary' bunch of new BOYS who made a 98m assembled team look ordinary more like...

Just asking, we're you one of the ****s who booed after Derby?

    Give your head a shake.

I didn’t say he couldn’t cross I said it was pointless rushing forward putting in the same cross to Magennis particularly , when two very good experienced backs as against Derby were there. It was a waste . Saturday it was a counter attack where the defence wasn’t set and we attacked at pace - it was a mobile midfielder who got there! Coyle should not just cross the same shape ball —-use his brain to decide when and how
Once again on this forum someone picks out a part of another’s comment or alters the context. You might note I don’t just say someone’s talking sh*** I give enough detail for a proper response - it’s a forum for intelligent discussion .

Mm. All about opinions of course but Jones really struggled against Derby, and Bernard has to me looked the best of our 3 CBs so far this season. More assured than Greaves too.
