It's only going to get better, we've signed a load of kids but they're already doing the job and getting points on the board in tough games.
not being funny lads, but people keep talking about 'kids'...but these lads are playing with a confidence and in many cases a maturity we have expected from so many players in recent years and been let down so many times. i remember posting a while ago that we have to give these lads time as there will be mistakes but to be honest i don't think we need worry, every single one of them has stepped up and been part of the team and played as part of the team as if they have been here for months...they are not alone either, the older heads are doing excellent as well.
I hope people give Cirkin time to settle in before getting on his back, a few people around me were criticising him quite harshly but it's his second game for us and he's only 19. I thought he did ok. One thing I liked was when he hit a nicely struck long shot that wasn't far off from going in. I doubt Hume would have been brave enough to try it. I like a LB with a decent shot on them.
I agree with what you're saying, but in the past we have been guilty of slipping up against the lesser teams in this league. The difference now, is that the competition for places means that the players can't slacken off and think that getting the points is a formality. They have to earn the points AND earn their places in the side for the next game. For the first time in a long while, no one's place in the side is a gimme. I can see this squad going from strength to strength, which is due in no small part to the recruitment team, the manager and his coaching staff.
I think having fans back are helping our good start to the season almost as much as having a good team. Won our 3 home games in front of big crowds.
confidence breeds wins, the more they play the better they will get, a side benefit will be those trying to break into the team will play that extra bit harder in the various cup competitions, which with a bit of luck will propel advancement, without the need to risk first team players, win win in my book
My nervousness is that a great run towards the end of the season is usually better than a great run at the beginning. I also dread the play-offs... for us its got to be automatic promotion.
Ive never been more confident since being in this League Sunderland are back on track we will walk it, trust in your heart
Plus, a lot of them have got potential to develop into decent Championship, and ultimately some even Premiership players, so we won't need a complete rebuild if (when) we go up. We're not just applying short term fixes anymore, it's almost like we've got a plan .
Brilliant day yesterday. Cracking weather, excellent win and played some lovely football three tremendous goals. It was an absolute joy to watch.
Top of the league and the transfer window is still open you say. More strengthening of the squad to come in the next few days you say. Well, in the words of Bobby Saxton..."that's ****ing delightful"
Spot on mate. We have already seen evidence of that against Blackpool. Spirit and confidence is sky high and every player in the manager's plans will want to be part of it.

Pains me everytime I say it but we really do have some of the worst supporters in the country. No patience or support to the club/team, at all. I wish they'd just **** off or that fellow supporters start to turn on them in a really nasty way everytime they start on one of our players.
I have never been so confident since before the January window in our first season here. Then we lost Maja who was vital for the way we were set up to play. I can’t see that happening this season.
