Yeah I find it all a little strange, tbh, Ron.

It's only a couple of our posters on this board who seem to have an irrational and weird hatred for Wycombe and Ainsworth. I've never seen a single Sunderland supporter away from the forum even mention your club or Ainsworth. I was always told in football that if you get a kick from the opposition then make sure you give them a bigger kick back next time. It seems some of our support are a little bit precious when it comes to our players getting roughed up. I must admit your side has been consistently the most dirtiest team we have played against since coming into this division but that is just another tactic and way of playing that we have to overcome playing in this division. No good crying about it.

I also believe (and hope) the league will throw the book at your lad for swinging a punch at 09 during the game. Totally unneccessary and very sinister.

Good luck for the rest of the season. I admire what Ainsworth and Wycombe have achieved for a club on no doubt a very limited budget <ok>

We played Wigan first game of the season and have just knocked a championship club out of the cup.

They will be in the Championship next year and with the fan base they have they deserve to be. They have had seasons like our bad days with ownership and manager problems and, as we know, it overflows onto the pitch affecting performance. Like us, they are now in a good place and good luck to them.

Banter is good but do not be drawn into unpleasant exchanges with the few unpleasant characters; they are generally a good bunch. Just think of the Gasroom; they have a few unpleasant characters too.

The foul abuse from one poster has been removed; not the sort of language we wish to see on here

First, you played better football than you did a couple of seasons ago
You were in danger of becoming a 'Stoke City' horrible to watch but effective now and again, hence your promotion to the Championship.
Secondly, we had a decent winger, Watmore and a really bad tackle at your place put him on the sidelines for months.

Thirdly we are in turd division cos we deserve to be, played crap football for too many seasons with awful managers and a poor did not have a clue owner. Is this season going to be better? Time and 40 games on from this will tell. Yes we are an old historic club, with a half decent stadium and fan base. But as we all know its results that count...and ours have been dire for years. As for the Premier, of course I would like to there, but unless you have loads of money, all you have to look forward to is to keep the score down against top half sides... win a few games against those around you... have a run in the cups ( unlikely to win it) and fir us to beat the mags. So swings and roundabouts.

As managers go, yours is not worse than Barton but he runs him a close 2nd...
I read some of your history... you have made great progress from your amateur days. But wouldn't it be nice to know for class football... rather than your present opprobrium.

I (and my daughter, son and grandson) have met Gareth Ainsworth a few times and he is a great bloke. To compare him to Barton really hurts. The only manager I could mention in the same breath as Barton is Derrick Adams. GA is also a legend here, having taken us from 1 goal from obscurity with a last day away 3-0 victory, to the Championship. If we had started the season with the same team we ended with, we would still be there. Fortunately, there are several clubs with fans that don't share your views about Wycombe, in particular clubs from the Premier and Championship we have played. I have never seen a Wycombe v Sunderland game so I can't comment too much on how your fans feel. I will make a point of watching our game at Adams Park and hope I don't see what all the fuss is about

Incidentally, I will wager that we have suffered far more injuries than we have inflicted

Anyway, good luck for the rest of the season and I'm sure you will be back in the Championship next season

Unfortunately I don't have such confidence about our club but we will see what happens when we get players back from injury and our youngsters and new signings settle in (13 of our squad were born this century)

We have had the same manager as you, Martin O'Neil... did not really work out for him here, but he got us playing football also yourselves?

You know your own manager better than I do.. my judgement is based on your hoof ball and bash em' tactics. Also he appears to espouse '****-housery eg niggley fouls, deliberate time wasting etc.

When Watmore was injured, Ainsworrth applauded the tackler and said he did nothing wrong...

Yesterday one of your players was on the ground injured, we had the ball in your half and put it out. You did throw the ball back to our left back towards our own goal line and immediately two of you players attacked him encouraged and ordered by your manager.

The ref yesterday was worse than useless, he was a little fat man who rarely got out of the centre circle. Missed the punch on 09 ( an ex WW) and ignored for us a good shout for a pen.
He also missed a couple of what should have been clearly free kicks for you, but give lots of other easier ones!

Anyhow if you like your manager and he is successful for you eg Championship, okay. But Stoke, Millwall etc are either living down or putting up with their poor reps.

Sorry to hear about your injuries, sounds as if you were missing some key players. We only have 3 or 4 out atm... although the new players have not gelled together yet and some are not match fit. So present results augurs well.

Good luck for the rest of the season... its great you are making history!

seems you had a couple of mouthy ones from our area(sunderland)...let me assure you we are not all like that.

for what it's worth, you are one of those teams that can actually play a bit, passed it round well for the first 15 minutes but failed when nearer goal, whether that was down to your players own faults or our defence being strong i leave for you to decide as we all view our own teams through tinted specs, after that we took the lead and like to think we simply controlled the game from then on and rarely seemed to be in any real trouble but credit to your team as they kept plugging away.

you are getting a rep as a 'sh1thousery' type team and as i said in one post on our own forums, a few teams seem to adopt this style in div 3 when they are more than capable of winning games by just playing football (some just seem to adopt it full stop), i won't mention the main unsavoury incident again, we leave that to the FA to sort if they choose but would love to hear your opinion of the ref as he was another one that looked as if 'the big club' crowd was not going to affect him, then let it affect him by giving some soft fouls against us and bottled it on some bigger calls for both teams (we see this often) so just wondering if you noticed that as well, or was it my own tinted specs?

"09" was with us for 3 seasons so we know exactly what he is all about also without GA he would still be non-league or freestyle ball juggler and he will make the most of every opportunity going to ground and making the most of situations and a wind up merchant I think it's in his DNA if you were talking about other players I would have more sympathy "09" is 6 years older than Anis Mehmeti and should grow up and you call us cheats

Ridiculous post from a bitter poster. Wycombe fans in general won't agree with you.

09 was never a non-league player or freestyle juggler. He was playing for Watford and then signed for Wycombe when he was released. He played on loan in non-league football which is standard for young players at professional clubs. Sunderland still loan our youngsters to non-league clubs to start off.

You know this though but you wanted to behave like a bitter little child.

There's video evidence of your player swinging a punch and hitting 09 in the shoulder that was previously dislocated. Trying to defend that is ridiculous. I'm also sure you guys loved Luke when he was at your club. Therefore that shows even more evidence of your petulance.

As I said on Saturday in the first half they had two shots on target & scored both. We need to get more on target it's no good keep trying to place it, at least make the keeper earn his corn
