AMN at Arsenal still wants to move too. As great as I think they both can be, I don’t think either would get the time that they’re looking for here. I’d actually demote Romeu to play them instead. I would think either could be persuaded to sign permanently in future too.

 

It's hard on a youngster to break into the first team and then to fall down the pecking order. Even harder to show the right attitude and fight for your place. I think Valery has grown up a bit and has shown with his attitude in pre season that he is willing to get his head down and work hard. Maybe going out to Birmingham last season and struggling to cement a regular place there has been a good bit of 'development' for him. Still think he can do a job for us and, as you say, that may well be cover for the wide role as well.

 

I never thought that he was THAT bad as a RB, but I think that he was badly exposed as our defence became more and more exposed due to a lack of midfield protection and also being generally depleted. He’s not a disaster there in a team that can cover him and especially against an opposition fullback who plays forward too and can leave space for him to get into the final third.

I suspect Ross is keeping quiet and trying not to attract attention. 2yrs left on his (very lucrative) contract, pretty much only being asked to play in early cup rounds, he'll just pop in for a bit of training thanks.

They will do a transfer window winners and losers tomorrow. I expect them to plonk us in the “Losers” section due to losing Ings, Vestergaard and Bertrand

Knowing them the only credit they will give is for Tino. And that will probably be counted as a Chelsea “win” somehow

Normally we don’t get a mention unless we do something amazing or catastrophic. For example no mention as Losers for the opening day defeat . Only positive mention from Man United was Tino. Etc

I have seen that West Ham are interested but they have a solid starting pair and are apparently signing another Czech so would be a daft move unless moyes plans to play 3 defensive midfielders...oh he’s going to West Ham isn’t he?

Interesting that Valery is being kept as 3rd choice right back. I expect he plays in the next carabao cup round with KWP or perraud on the left

Disappointing if true. Don't want to lose anyone this window but Obe is a great character who has shown he can have an impact coming on late with his pace.
