not a bad shout but Rahm is hard to go pastthe form that he's in. What i can guarantee is that it's not me. I may have had a chance if it wasn't for covid and the fact that i'm a crap golfer but i guess we'll just never know.
Like to see Tommy Fleetwood do well, especially enjoy watching his iron shots. Also Marc Leishman whose home club is reasonably local to my part of Victoria. As a fellow leftie, I like how Robert MacIntyre plays the game.
The Australians have really been in form lately so I'd say there's a few of them in with a chance. I like the look of Abraham Ancer, he's been playing well recently and due a big tournament.
Big Bobby Mac did well at the open. I'm not sure he'll be up there with the best in the future but he's getting his foot in the door and making a name for himself. Enjoyable player to watch, I wouldn't be surprised if he surpasses McIlroy's achievements.
Ryder Cup in a few weeks, can't wait. Looks like the Yanks are at each others throats, DeChambeau, Koepka, Cantlay and Johnson all seem to be feuding over one thing or another... Amazing individual golfers, but they have zero team ethic.
Just to say well done European Women in the Solheim Cup.. men need now to copy Just as well the women won cos if the USA won by 1 point the biased Referee decision would have come into focus
I watched a lot of it, especially the singles. It was a great spectacle. Well done the lasses, especially with no support.
As did I. The short game and putting of both teams was excellent. The two putts on the final green of the final match was a joy to watch. (And normally I hate watching women's sports)
Imho there is nothing wrong with watching womens sport...just because they are perhaps half a century younger than me, athletic and pretty... does not me a DOM (dirty old man)... Even in tennis, (with the old rackets the power shots were not very good) now these tall strong females really smash the ball.
Watched Emma Raducanu's last couple of matches at the US Open, she looks a real talent. Your comment reminded me of her because she doesn't half zip it about with some pace.
Regarding the Ryder cup, why is it that the Americans get more captain's picks than the Europeans? Seems odd to me as on paper it's an advantage.
Dont know the answer to that. The Americans always look stronger on paper and they may well win. However, they are a team of individuals and will never have a team spirit as Europe. That's a big decider as to why Poulter was picked over Rose.
