I never understood how Vestergaard got a move to Leicester, defensively average, so slow but looks good a couple of times a game bursting forward or smashing a 60m cross field ball. Salisu is miles better

 

he'll probably agree by the end of the season. We were linked with him and I thought "please God, no", a minor upgrade on Dawson, but that doesn't say much tbh, he had a 2 month golden patch with us, but has now reverted back to the player a championship side didn't want.

 

Fair point but it is still points on the board . And I’m not sure we will match their return from the comparative fixtures (away at Burnley especially)

 

Thought Salisu was £16m might be wrong.

On a separate note is that McCarthys first clean sheet in 2021? I think they said during the Newcastle game that he hadn’t kept one this year

 

Oh I don't begrudge them this, but the reality is somewhat more stark.

We sold Vestergaard for 15Million, It cost us 11Million for Salisu.

 

Hopefully this increased solidity lasts and we can build on it and improve at the other end

With each passing game the case for pushing Tino up the pitch increases. Broja looks like a great impact sub. Hopefully Stu returns in time for some of our winnable games . He just seems a level above all our other options

 

Solid point. Salisu MOTM. Rare occasion that Antonio didn't bully the hell out of us. Nice tactical change by Ralph going into the game, which I think would have resulted in three points if only we had 11 decent players on the pitch rather than 9. Our FBs were 10 times better offensively than the two guys ahead of them...

 

Stephens was my MOTM just ahead of McCarthy and Salisu. Thought he was excellent. Broja was fantastic off the bench, so unlucky not to get the winner. Elyounoussi was very quiet. Perraud was good on the left and Tino his usual self on the right.

 

Seeing as our performance was lethargic, uninspiring and entirely fruitless for 70 mins, I would hardly be lording it, even if we'd have won.

 

Oh god I forgot about Stu. Lovely Stu He will add so much to this team right now, I feel.
