The cynic in me thinks that if another set of fans held a protest v the mags, and threw paper planes on the pitch, the mags would be up in arms screaming that its in bad taste. They would though, wouldn't they?
This idiotic protest thing is obviously going to be very embarrassing for the Mag(got)s, and I'm wondering whether or not it would be even more embarrassing if, after all of the publicity, it didn't happen tomorrow . . . . either way it's a 'win win' situation anyway. I also wonder if the Maggots have become even more desperate for attention because of our successful takeover and the way that we've been restructured from the solid foundations being built and the potential that we now seem to be starting to realise How strange . . . . a Premier League club's fans being jealous of a (currently) third division club
Newcastle United have been named as the club at the heart of a case being heard by a Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. The Law Gazette reporting that The Solicitors Regulation Authority said on Wednesday (15th September 2021) that London firm Mishcon de Reya and its former partner Elizabeth Ellen allowed for payments to transfer fixers who helped to push through deals involving their client Newcastle United in 2011. The report explaining that: ‘James Ramsden QC, for the SRA (Solicitors Regulation Authority), told the tribunal that the use of the client account was not sufficiently connected with the provision of legal services and was therefore a breach of the rules.’ Whilst the players and counter-parties that make up the case are being kept anonymous, the tribunal accepted the naming of Newcastle United as the club involved. For Newcastle United fans no doubt, they will be thinking that if any club was going to end up being named as the Premier League outfit at the heart of such a case, no surprise that NUFC is making headlines yet again. Looking back to 2011, the players that Newcastle United signed were Davide Santon, Yohan Cabaye, Gabriel Obertan, Demba Ba, Rob Elliot, Sylvain Marveaux and Mehdi Abeid. Those players then helping NUFC to a surprise fifth place finish, Papiss Cisse signing mid-season in January 2012. You would assume that this case involves transfers of incoming players, but as for those who were sold in 2011 by Newcastle United, we saw Joe Enrique, Kevin Nolan, Kazenga LuaLua and Wayne Routledge leave. ‘A solicitor and her firm were responsible for using the client account to pay third parties involved in football transfers involving a Premier League club, the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal has heard. The Solicitors Regulation Authority said today that London firm Mishcon de Reya and its former partner Elizabeth Ellen allowed for payments to transfer fixers who helped to push through deals involving their client Newcastle United in 2011. James Ramsden QC, for the SRA, told the tribunal that the use of the client account was not sufficiently connected with the provision of legal services and was therefore a breach of the rules. He said that Ellen was not an inexperienced solicitor in the operation but rather an introducer of counter-parties and key part of five transactions under scrutiny from beginning to end.
Yeah, Charnley was arrested. Not sure what happened about that, tbh. Maybe the investigation is still ongoing.
After the forever wait I honestly believe nothing will happen tomorrow night, but please keep this page updated if anything does. It must be awful to support a club where actually no one gives a toss because it’s supported by a bunch of arse holes.
The HMRC investigation is still on going, Ashley and the Mags have been using every blocking technique they can to slow it down and hope its dropped, but do far it hasn't. Being brutal about this, if it's true this solicitor will be struck off for corruption. The fact the she had an arrangement with the Mags to do it shows they're corrupt. That's only going to strengthen the HMRC investigation to see if there's further stuff to look into (I've been told that there is and HMRC are looking at financial dealings going back well before Ashley's involvement with them). Potentially you're looking at a couple of decades worth of dodgy deals that would give the PL, EFL and FA headaches to look at. IF its seen that the Mags have benefitted over a decent period of time from dodgy finances, which could include qualifying for Europe, avoiding relegation, getting promoted as well as getting greater prize money than they should have, a small points deduction and slap on the wrist won't be enough. Probably only a large points deduction and transfer embargo and or demotion would be suitable. Demotion from the PL with a transfer embargo and depending on what the EFL want could have them stranded in the EFL for years. It also wouldn't make them that attractive to the Saudis, especially if a lengthy transfer embargo saw them struggle and end up in league 1. If the Mags weren't so self absorbed about their protests they should be worried about this
It's ****ing mental, mate. I feel like I'm in a position of strength with my mag pals, at the moment. Even though we are two divisions below them
I received a few "What's the Burton score mate, been out shopping" messages from a few skunks, I've not felt like responding, sitting happily in the peace of mind my armoury overfloweff...
No wonder they can't get anyone to buy the club ... ... Ashley must be desperate to get rid of this awful carbuncle.
In all honesty they've helped me through the last few years and I'm not joking. Just imagine if the Leicester owners had gone for Newcastle instead and done the same things for them ... ... sorted out the stadium & infrastructure, built a fabulous training complex, won the league, etc. We'd be absolutely distraught and I don't mind admitting it. As it is they're trundling along in a clown car with the doors falling off and the occupants falling about in their clown shoes, were absolutely blessed to have them.
