lol. Tbh, Origi didn’t do his valuation any harm at all really, did he?

reality is that this Milan team will be spanked more than once in this comp, despite their two goals, we definitely did spans them. They are very poor. All in all, I think that Klopp nailed the line up yesterday.

Origi is so good that he plays a 9 going forward and then the 9 pivots and he becomes a 6 without the ball. It’s highly technical and only appropriate for the upper echelon of players

 

What a game. Bar a very very VERY poor 5 min spell, we were dominant and should have been out of sight. It was a fantastic team performance (for that 85 mins).

We were completely undone by 2 moments of brilliance from Milan (they were really well worked goals) and there were a few people to blame. Hendo didn't cover that space well enough, Fabinho too slow to recover, Trent sloppy, Matip ball watching and Gomez not holding the line well enough. There were no big errors but there were fine margins that led to the goals. Does that happen if VVD was playing? Maybe, maybe not but worth bearing in mind that Gomez is also coming back from a major injury so it will take him time to get sharp.

Midfield was largely good - Fabinho dominating yet again, Hendo with a cracking match winning goal and played some superb passes but felt he was off defensively, and Keita was excellent in the first half but faded in the second.

Jota starting to add more to his game - his pressing is far more structured and he is creating more, rather than just being the outright finisher. Salah is remarkable and I thought Origi did well.

Great all-round performance, bar the fact we should have been out of sight after the first 25 mins, as has been said many times. Serious ****-ups for their two goals. I was shocked with Origi's performance in a good way.

 

mate henderson was outstanding he was in an effect 424 formation pushed right one closing and pressing. it was outstanding.

your feeling might be based off a 433 but if klopp told him to go forwward does it matter what we think.

and yes after 40mins both the and Trent were blowing and didn't press up fast and let them pass in.

At least one of those goals a snide foul would have shut it down.

Really enjoyed that even if i did have to take a second blood pressure pill . Should point out that i did say i was happy with the team as long as Origi put a shift in which he did <insert smug icon >

 

he was steady. He went about his usual pace to the game so compared to henderson madly dashing about he was more reserved but he did ok. i can see why he got taken off but he was whining to klopp at the end about it. he was off due to running down blind alley and not really linking play as good as he was doing earlier.

 

Phillips pah. we will just devalue him now. MAybe v norwich but i'd rather we work gomez and konate there.

mini me is for shirt sales manaquin and he got himself injured so can't play til norwich.

Neco can play v norwich but needs to then show immediate defensive capability.


My view is the team last night set a tone. It was a step above the prem games so far but also a glimpse of some of what was shown in preseason. certianly henderson was made to show elliott is not better than him. Origi even tried!

If the team against norwich in the league cup don't lash about eagerly to show what they can do i will be disappointed in them.

Just been listening to Football Daily on BBC Sounds. Pat Nevin criticising the size of our squad (not the quality) and the likes of Origi, trying the flicks, tricks and balls round the corner, just aren't good enough and don't come off. Neatly forgetting that his scoop over the top created Salah's goal.

 

What an atmosphere. The fans were superb. I had two thoughts when Salah was taking the penalty, firstly, I wish the fans would sing his name after he takes it and second, get that contract signed, this is how much you're loved here.
