Are you sure they are being scrapped. Two interviews given within an hour or so. Rather doubt that there is an agreed policy.
Well according to the BBC they are but then who knows.. The Government have changed their minds a lot. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-58535258
According to the PM, and now the health secretary, restrictions will return if the virus "gets out of control". It was noticeable that at yesterdays press briefing that Sir Patrick Valence had a different view. Looking at the PM with disdain he said that you needed to act "hard and fast before things got out of control". Just to add to the confusion, today the health secretary has been telling the broadcasters that you can only catch the virus from strangers and not people you know. It is good to know that your immune system can detect when you are with friends.
As a result of the BoJo Shuffle yesterday, Nadine Dorries becomes the Secretary of State for Digtal, Culture, Media and Sport. The Digital part of that includes the responsibility for cyber security. Rather worryingly, this appears to be the sum total of her experience in that particular area. I'd ask "What was BoJo thinking?", but I'm not too sure that he does.
It will be interesting to see how this works out! From 15 October in Italy vaccine passports mandatory for all public & private sector workers. Those not vaccinated can access the workplace with a negative Covid test (cost €15), valid for just 48h. Non-compliance means suspension from work & salary.
Our transport network will be fairer, greener & more efficient thanks to our exciting new post-EU freedoms. We will introduce digital driving licences – moving provisional cards online, doing away with paper test certificates & bringing MOTs into the modern age. Grant Shapps, We already have them, so I have no idea what he is going on about.

My friend who lives in Provence, about 50 km from Nice, can get a return to the Vic cheaper than I can get there from Cheshire. He does have free (UK) rail pass, but I think he can use a cheap coach from Luton/Stansted as well.
A year ago today : 37 deaths & 4926 cases Johnson told us to work from home, wear masks and limit meetings Today 36,710 cases (over 5 times as many) and 182 deaths (nearly 5 times as many). And that’s after an extensive vaccine programme. Johnson today. Nothing.
Apparently BoJo has asked Brazil's President Bolsonaro for an emergency agreement to supply an unnamed food product. "He wants an emergency agreement with us to import some kind of food that is lacking in England," he said I'm wondering why only England... https://www.reuters.com/world/bolso...t-emergency-food-deal-with-brazil-2021-09-23/
Got to be Brazil nuts I reckon. Johnson worried that there will not be any covered in chocolate in his tins of Quality Street.
