There surely has to be a major shake-up. The entire midfield plus Gunter could easily be dropped. MacG Barker, Elerewe, Famewo, Soare; Leko, Dobson, Arter, Lee; Washington, Stockley. won't be the team, but it would suit me.
Four four fooking two for me MacG Matthews Lavelle Famewo Soare DJ Dobson Morgan Kirk Leko Stockley
Will never play two up front when we have played one forward at home. Four points from the next four games.
At some point I'd like to see how we get on without Stockley. I don't think he's missed a minute, and Davison is allegedly his understudy, but the only minutes he's had are alongside Stockley. Even when Stockley is marked by two huge defenders he still gets the ball lumped up to him in the air, basically we need a midfield that wants the ball, which means Watson doesn't get near the team. Kirk should be taken out of the firing line until he gets his hunger back.
We're told there is competition for places. If so you get replaced if you're playing crap. No automatic choices please, no-one picked on reputation, no square pegs in round holes and Mikey might even get his win.
Must admit my confidence was knocked by the first half against Cheltenham last weekend. I wouldn't be too upset with a draw today - unless we throw away a decent lead. Should things go wrong again and Charlton lose, there will be serious questions to answer. A long term series of changes within the Club to put right nearly a decade of neglect and rank bad stewardship is necessary. But any manager losing 5 out of his first 7 league games in a season has to acknowledge he is going to be under pressure to sort that out urgently. We have the players to be doing better than that. I have just enough optimism left to hope for a 1-2 away win...
Wycombe are deservedly favourites. It would be an upset in form if we won- we really have been poor this season. Any team which does the basics right is going to cause us serious problems unless there is a vast improvement, and I don't see where that is coming from.
Losing 4 from 6 is a shocker. In anybody's book it points to a struggle. I imagine Ivor and gang are not happy.
Thought we started okay but since the half hour mark it's been one way traffic. We create nothing up front. We are an open door at the back, and to be honest I'm not seeing any progress at all.
I'm afraid the clock is now ticking for Nigel Adkins. If it were down to me I would give him three more league games to save his job. If Charlton are still in the relegation places after 10 played, I'd sack him.
