What have you done ? Have you 'voted with your feet' but having a lot to say or are you one of the 'loyal enough to keep paying your money' types ?
The excuses are beyond ridiculous. Of course other clubs contend with the same that we have (injuries, suspensions, bedding in, etc). The ones who don't are the exception. And this excuse of players 'downing tools' the season before last is conveniently being massively over played by those for some reason defending McCann. We are talking of a period from February to late July where we played 17 league games. It was only in July when the wheels truly came off (Wigan). What was McCann doing in the 14 games before then? The answer is getting us 6 points, out of a possible 42. SIX points!! And that's what it stayed at to the season's end. Before Bowen & Growsicki left, McCann was able to bring in Wilks and Maddison (both players of HIS choosing), along with Samuelson and Scott (who may or may not have been his choices). He also brought in Kane, another of his choice, but unfortunately he got injured. Toral, Stewart, McDonald, Batty, McKenzie all signed short term contract extensions. Lichaj and Jackson imo did the dirty by choosing not to sign short term extensions, but up to that point, both were among those clearly putting shifts in (but it just wasn't happening for Jackson, a bit like it isn't happening now for some). For some strange reason, McCann then chose DeWijs as Captain! The players didn't 'down tools' at all from 1st February through to the Wigan game. McCann stuck with his same old; no adapting, no flexibility, no nous, and that was the outcome. Yes, Bowen & Growsicki left a big hole, of course they did, but McCann had more than enough available to him to see us through. HE failed miserably.
Do you think having attendances on par with a League 1 club and a split fan base, no matter what the reasons, and others openly bragging on social media that they are boycotting whilst slagging off the present owners/manager helps in the cause of attracting a new owner?
If any Clubs fans have a right to feel aggrieved at a lack of success and vote with their feet, that's the Club.
I love responses like this, what exactly do you want people to discuss on a Hull city message forum? Might as well abandon match day threads, that’s full of people picking teams and tactics, scandalous
I don't think it makes a blind bit of difference, any new owner is going to be fully aware that getting the fans back onside wouldn't take much.
Sunderland's attendances are brilliant, but they're still down from well over 40k in the Premier League to under 30k now, all clubs lose fans when they're doing badly.
They're getting more now than they were in the Championship, though obviously they have the benefit of a new owner and currently being top of League One.
You think it's fair game to discuss someone's livelihood on a McCann in/out thread,I don't. Match day threads involve a lot of picking and tactics from armchair fans, some looking for free streams...Most of the picking involves nits.
I think discussing anything related to Hull City on a Hull city message board is fine, we are all armchair managers , might as well get rid of talksport , newspapers , Facebook, Twitter, local radio and anything that invites fan contribution . It’s all waffle , it fills our day . I just think reacting to any discussion you don’t like with armchair manager accusations is bit weird . I probably couldn’t do a much better job than McCann at city, and would expect people on this board to discuss if, that’s the business he’s in … discuss how **** I am at my own job if you want too , but the world of industrial supplies doesn’t sell many newspapers
That's fair comment and it's been touched on before on this forum.Personal opinion but I think the same would apply with us. A high flying Hull City in League 1 would probably draw a bigger crowd than a poorly performing one in the Championship.?
'We are all armchair supporters' ??? Are you sure ? I'm not. I got to every Hull City game, home and away that I can. There is discussion and there is unfair abuse. It's the abuse I don't like.
