So he brings Wright on and he gives the pen away, typical they sat back, we are rubbish at high balls played in have we got any 6' 5" defenders ? still need a STRIKER as well. I give him till October.

Jury still out for me on LJ. His changes late in games don’t appear to give us a second wind rather change the momentum in the oppositions favour.
We do need to kill games off better as well, but inviting teams on like we are currently doing is going to catch us out more as the season goes on

The players have to share the blame imo, we need to be braver when we're winning.

They had 3 or 4 up front. I'm not massively concerned, barring the actual final result, that he brought an extra defender on on this occasion.

Hopefully we'll hump Bolton and Cheltenham.

    Aw fukit man!

Our problems all in one hit.

Trying to see out a narrow lead is too close to throwing away 2 points and does nothing for our goal difference - LJ needs reminding that a better goal difference can be as important as the three points in what has been a very tight league table!

And hopefully he'll have learned a lesson today.

A point away is a point away so I can love with it.

But we should've had six from Burton and today.

So Radio Ponteland saying 09 handled it was a load of bollocks!

Anyone got a video of this shirt pulling?

  11. Those of us with a smattering of cerebral function know we aren’t going to win every match, and also know that this is a young side getting used to playing together who will improve. It’s early days, today is frustrating, but we’ll learn from it and hopefully LJ will get rid of this siege mentality created when we’re narrowly ahead with still 15 mins to go!

it will no doubt be on the highlights but from what i could see it was more of the attacker trying to force his way past wright, with wright holding his ground but with a handful of shirt...much like about 99% of times a ball goes into an area and a very very harsh decision imo...not long after that, gooch was body checked as he ran into their box and my immediate thought was if theirs was a penalty then that should have been as well.

Hope you are right. Someone needs to put him right. He’s a good coach, otherwise.

Really hope he does, this chucking defenders on and trying to hold on to a win is going to bite us in the arse. Almost cost us last game too.

Our greatest asset is in our attacking play…would rather freshen up the wingers than change the shape.

He is and I'm sure Speakman wouldn't sit by quietly if there was an issue.

if anything, that should show people how 'none obvious' the penalty call was, no one was sure and all anyone could see on the replay was wright holding the shirt...can't recall any bookings either but it is what it is, we will draw more and lose some along the way it just feels like a complete sucker punch today as i don't feel they deserved anything.

On the plus side it sounds like Hoffman is already over his nerves and is showing his quality.
