Cant see why they'd threaten it, they aren't going to be swapped into the Championship and if suing for loss of earnings, how will it work against a club that's skint and unable to pay? Suing the EFL would get them suspended and potentially kicked out of the league. That only leaves the owner to go after, but that might be tenuous at best.

Are Wycombe seriously trying to be the most disliked team in English football?

If Sunderland were trying to pull a stunt like this I'd be appalled ...

... no surprise coming from Wycombe though

Imagine if Donald had appointed him instead of Parky. I couldn't be having that on the touchline every Sat...

Definitely not. It was a credible link to him as well I think. Not sure how close he got but it would have been horrible.

It was close enough. From rumours I heard Parky got the job because Donald didn't have to pay any compensation to get him. Before that Ainsworth was the front runner.

I agree, it would have been horrible, my mate keeps saying that if Ainsworth has got the job Akinfenwa would be our centre forward right now. God knows what damage he'd have done to us.

If they gave Wycombe the 12 points that would put them top and therefore Wigan would move to second. We would then be in the play offs.

Sheff Utd managed to get £15m out of West Ham over the Tevez affair. I am surprised there hasnt been more legal cases to be honest when the amount of money involved is so big. In this case I actually think Wigan have a genuine grievance as the offences arguably should have been penalised last season and the lost revenue is easy enough to prove. Getting the compensation, as you say, is a challenge here but if memory serves (and it may not) hadnt West Ham changed hands before the settlement was reached?

Maybe we should have sued them for refusing to fulfil their seasonal obligations thus putting us out of playoffs, then plying the playoffs.

    Tinpot ****house club.

Yeah, Sheffield United did get a lot out of West Ham and it was under new owners, but it took a couple of years for it to be agreed, before it went to court. Getting compensation could be a very protracted issue, with no guarantee that new owners would play along with it the way West Ham did. In fact its been said that the Iceland financial crisis caused the owners then to be more willing to make a deal and pay up, or the club could have been bankrupted if it had ended up with a bigger pay out ordered from a court. If new owners at Derby have deep enough pockets they could certainly drag it out for a while.

I've no sympathy for Derby in this, but I do think that Wycombe are playing a risky game that can easily backfire on them.
