Keen though I am to see a change of ownership, if the prospective buyer is really putting it out there already that he is going to change the manager, this strikes me as daft as some of the Allam's actions. Of course he might decide to change the manager, but if the take over is going to take a while, I'd want to keep the current manager motivated with something to prove for the next few weeks, rather than leaving him knowing he's no prospect of keeping his job. It doesn't give me immediate encouragement about this guy, I must admit.
But on the other side, you'd think Terry would want to show how good he is and it'd be wrong to get rid. Not that i'm saying Terry's any good.
Yeah I didn’t mean discussing it with grant, I would imagine that would be the last thing they’d do incase the takeover falls through. I just wondered if it would have been discussed with the allams and the wannabe owners
But it's a rumour based on some throwaway comment he made about wanting to employ some Turkish people here. Allams said the same thing ages ago and it hasn't really happened apart from the two Egyptians we signed years ago. He didn't say he'll be changing the manager immediately so don't worry about it.
As a complete pessimist, I am going to assume that nothing will come of this. If you would all be kind enough to provide me with a typical official sounding press release to strengthen this belief, I can remain in the comfort zone of defeatist depression that I have become accustomed to and from which I am averse to ever consider emerging. I will kick this off with my own effort. Hull City AFC would like to announce that rumours of an imminent takeover by foreign investors is a complete falsehood. Having examined, with due diligence, the financial status of the potential purchasers and their capacity to generate the necessary funds for such a major undertaking, the Board of Management of the club wish to state that the club is currently not under immediate consideration for new ownership and remains in the capable hands of Assam & Ehab Allam. We will continue to seek appropriate suitors who, like us, will strive to act in the best interests of the club and our very appreciative and loyal fanbase.
It's Assem not Assam! Assam is a type of tea leaf ... oh, maybe you were right after all? Hopefully the rest of the pretend statement is also wrong
So approaching midweek .. any news yet ? Other then of course volcanos erupting in the canary Islands !
A little throwaway comment in the HDM article about KLP, but the takeover has taken “one step closer”. Whether that’s a gnat’s step, a human step or a giant step I don’t know, they didn’t specify.
You will be hoping that happens before we get new owners, the window will be packed out that day. You'll find me in Burtons shop window though.
My concerns regarding that comment are a new owner coming in and excitedly selling players for what they see as big fees and thinking running the club is easy. I hope the Trust endeavours to engage with him if it does eventuate to try to get a strong working relationship and bring him up to speed on the club and the city.
Assem Allam will never sell Hull City whilst it makes him money, which is all he cares about. By keeping Hull City permanently in debt to Allamhouse Limited he is making plenty of money in interest payments every year. You can add this latest person to the long list of people who allegedly wanted to buy Hull City who are never heard of again when the sale falls through. Hull City have been paying interest to Allamhouse for nearly 11 years!!!
