We need another start like the first half, the intensity that’s been lacking.

Another 45 minutes, only 1-0 up.

Could easily be 3 goals up, look a different team. Very solid performance. Leko to come on last 20 and get a goal <ok>.

Gills just two shots off target according to BBC sports.
This game is there for the taking. We have to see this one out...

Best first half of the season so far against a poor Gills team.

No criticism of Stockley but we look a different team with him on the bench. Lots of movement off the ball, players running with ball at feet and very quick passing. Should be at least two up. Blackett-Taylor MOM so far but expect him to tire second half as he hasn't stopped running and beating his man. Stockley to come on later when we will tire, but I don't mind the odd long ball late on to relieve pressure and give the midfield a rest.

Very strong bench btw. Things look a little brighter suddenly, but of course we need the second goal.

As Greavsie would have said, a game of two halves.

A draw, but they never feel as good when you lose a lead, as when you save a point.

Better than losing. And we did at least create a lot of chances. :emoticon-0108-speec

Plus it is important to not lose to the teams around you.

Bit hard to react to that. A point away at a team missing five regulars is hardly the stuff of legend but as we are so low on confidence it is a step forward.
Great first half too - if only we'd got a second goal. It's hard to say why we went off the boil second half but a lot of bad habits came out to haunt us. Blackett-Taylor is looking worth a better contract (someone on CL was asking if we could swap his contract with Jayesemi <laugh>) but we still have problems and their goal showed the defence is not properly formed.
Take the positives I guess - Pompey didn't have a great night either.

For all the grief that keyboard experts give him, I thought Watson was very good.

    1st half excellent.

    2nd half usual bow locks.

I’m no expert but I’m not a lover of Watson from the the times I have seen him, too many bookings, backward and sideway passing and a bit slow off the blocks now. I’m glad he had a good game but he doesn’t have enough of them unfortunately

Our front 3 in Adkins' original plans would probably be Kirk, Stockley and DJ. We paid a fee for the all, and none of them started last night, with the result we had our best 45 of the season. We also were very pleased to get Famewo back, but he was deservedly dropped. Clare and Dobson must wonder why we bought them, even with Gilbey and JF-C out they don't feature. I should probably have put this on the recruitment thread, but it looks to me like too many cooks behind the scenes.
