Anyway, I'm now in deepest Buckinghamshire. Woke up to a beautiful sunny morning in this lovely cottage.

Early walk, back for some breakfast, and off down to Hughendon Park to see if I can spot any natives - back later.

Assuming we get enough points. Not guaranteed.

12 point penalty imposed on Derby.

No mention of any extras so far. Now on -2, 13 points behind us. Not insurmountable the way we are playing.

Yep and they're only 9 points from safety with 38 to play. Not much of a punishment to my mind.

I see now that by going into administration Derby will now avoid the further 9 point (+3) deductions allegedly agreed between Mel Morris and the EFL - the 12 they've just had is the lot for now.

The reason? The administrators are under no obligation to accept any agreements entered into by the previous owner.

It would be up to the new owners (whenever) to renegotiate with the EFL - and that could take them well into next season. Whilst the club is in administration, the only penalties that can be levied are if the administrators are at fault like failing to pay wages on time etc.

What a complete basket case of a club run by a basket case of an owner who knew exactly what he was doing.

The whole thing stinks. Had the called in the administrators when they should have, they'd be in League One now. So, just hang on a month or two, see how we're doing and then call them in. I have no idea what legally qualifies as fraud, but morally, this nonsense certainly does

Too many loopholes to be exploited.

It is so close at the bottom of the table and early in the season. Should the players chose to stay at Derby (and most other clubs can't afford to add to their squads until January) I can see them avoiding relegation if they continue their recent form.

Apparently they can sell players straight away and get cash for them, but they can't play for their new clubs until January.

If that's the case then very few will get picked up... thus leaving the cheating feckers with the majority of their best players.

One can only hope that karma exists and that they do now suffer some bad form and get the relegation they deserve.
I guess potentially they could actually still go under if no buyers come forward.
If Morris does still own the ground it would be a risky business to buy, I mean let's face it, would you want a crook like that as your landlord?

Not that I'm wishing they fold completely, their fans definitely don't deserve that, but if they do avoid any serious repercussions then what kind of message does that send to other clubs that are gambling with their futures?
