Forgive the use of the hearts, in the title, but the date has a special place in the Badger household.

Since 2003 we have played Wolves 16 times, in league games (Premier and Championship) and the results are beautifully symmetrical - 5 wins apiece and 6 draws.
So, on paper, this would indicate that the game will be finely balanced and could go either way.

However, a closer look at the results indicate that we have struggled to get league wins against them in recent years.
So, as with our first 5 league matches of the season, we find ourselves up against yet another team that has enjoyed having the upper hand over us, in recent times, with the records showing that Saints have managed just one league victory, over Wolves, in our last 10 meetings.

Wolves have started the season badly, with 1 win and 4 losses, yet they sit just 1 point behind us, making this an important time to secure our first league win of the season.

My memory isn’t great, but for me the recent games have been genuine contenders for the “a game of two halves” cliche. We start the stronger, only for Wolves to come back at us in the second half, often as a result of Adama Traore starting to play, ending up with them nicking 1 or 3 points. I am hoping that our early season, new found defensive resilience will continue to kick in and we can negate any attacking options Wolves might have.

An important contributory factor to Wolves poor start, this season, could be the loss of Nuno Espírito Santo to Spurs, although it’s fair to say that their form at the back end of last season wasn’t too good either.

Hopefully we can build on our recent results and get that elusive league win and 3 more points on the board.

There is a strong possibility that I will miss the start of this one, but hope to see us romping away with it, when I do join the game.

Nah, St. Badger forgot the ‘s’ at the end of ‘Saints’, that’s all. He’s changed it now, the cheat.

This is the important one for me. Mini Lincoln and I have tickets for a lads day out so very much looking forward to it. The boy is a bit of a good luck charm having never seen us lose in a competitive game.

Granted he's only been to one competitive game but that's not the point.

3-1 Saints with an Armstrong brace. COYR

The plot thickens. So is this even Badger’s match thread anymore?

Really hope Armstrong scores in this one. We need him to start finding the net on a regular basis and breaking his home duck will help. Fairly optimistic about this one but Wolves are a tough side to predict.

I think wolves could be relegated this year. So far I’ve predicted draws and I’ve been correct. So I’m predicting a win.

Does that mean we’re playing Spurs on Sunday instead?
