And potentially force them in declaring with a much smaller lead than they would prefer to. Their desperation to win could see them lose.

    But I doubt it.

Follow-on avoided, so Warwicks will need to bat again, takes a little bit more time out of the game. PLEASE Somerset see out the remaining 7.4 overs of the day without losing another wicket

I have supreme (alcohol-fuelled) confidence that Somerset will bat on and get a first innings lead, by tea tomorrow.

Somerset close on 239-5. I'll take that.

It’s lovely to hear all this support for Somerset, I have to say.

Not sure it’s going to work, unfortunately.

Yes, they got through it OK, 128 behind with 77 overs gone. Somerset are fighting, to be fair to them, but the first hour tomorrow will be crucial; the ball is bound to do more in the morning and the new ball is due after only 3 more overs.

The new ball in the hands of Chris Woakes is a worrying thought.

The way this is going Somerset will be 6 down at the start of the 110th over and then Danny Briggs will take a hat-trick

TBF if Somerset are 6 down after 109 overs they will be in the lead or near parity at least so that's not too bad a scenario!

At least they've got stuck in with the bat. I can live with it if they lose but go down fighting.

How on earth can a team win by an innings having only posted 170 themselves?

Might just have been clipping leg, but would have been a definite DRS review if it was available

How come these two teams are playing and everyone else has finished for the day?

Good thing is that the new ball won't really play a part tomorrow, with it being 20 overs away. Either we'll have been bowled out before it arrives, or we'll have accumulated sufficient runs during those 20 overs that our lead will be more than decent already.

If you offered me 40 runs tomorrow, and a lead of 200, I'd say yes please. Followed by a long spell by Abbas and Barker either side of lunch.
