The second goal came from Krul throwing the ball out McLean got nudged off the ball on the half way line and Everton just simply walked it into the net . So powder puff in their pink outfits. Normann was the only one trying to score and they were from distance. Dreadful again and I can see us going 10 games without a point , we can't defend or score .
I don't think we will see many wins in it our away form is embarrassing. It's easy to see the players in it though
As a supporter of Yellow and Green, I detest any other colours worn by my team. If there is no colour clash(Watford the only one) play in your proper team colours. It's all to do with generating income, end of. Get back to wearing our proper colours and be proud of them. Rant over
Totally agree - need a change of strip for when we play Watford and Wolves away but that’s it. Why the eff we need three kits is beyond me - the accountants like the concept though ……
I thought the formation worked well and we looked much better without Gilmore. Farke was understandably angry after McLean's rubbish free kick when Pickford had just gone down with his shoulder. The team is beginning to gel and until we were chasing the game and Normann had to go off we only conceded a penalty. I watched all of the Brentford game and they had more luck in 90 mins than we have had all season and for all of it they only got one point for it. Balls pinged about, hit posts, fell to them. Who knows we might get a point or even win one day!
Any news on Norma’s injury? Taken off just as a precaution? Sadly, I think it might have cost us a point.
Normann has been the outstanding signing so far. Looks a quality player. Conversely Gilmour looks the worst, so far
If there is only the one strip then if you want/can afford to buy a replica shirt the decision is made for you. I would guess that virtually no fan buys two kits in a season so revenue would hardly be affected
Yes for all that it got us in the end, I actually thought the midfield looked more effective vs Everton. Normann was quick to put some longer searching balls forward for Pukki and Sargent to scrap for and PLM was finding some useful space with long balls pinged at the FBs. We seemed more competitive overall however I still don't get the lack of press from our forwards. Perhaps it's a fitness thing but we do seem to stand off teams in their own half. We don't have that luxury in reverse. We're harried senseless for 90 mins.
It's harder to press when there's only 2 strikers up front. The object was to make it more difficult to move the ball through a 5 man midfield and to some degree we accomplished that with 53% possession overall (the first time over 50%). For me much will depend on what Normann can add when he's fully match fit and better integrated with the other midfielders. We need to retain the same players and formation for Burnley with Normann, Lees-Melou and McLain our best bet to match the physical challenges while also best able to progress the ball to the strikers in a key match. In spite of 6 losses so far, our situation isn't hopeless as David Freezer points out: "City are one of five teams yet to win and still just three points adrift of Newcastle in 17th, providing a reminder that the season is still in its infancy. Chris Hughton’s team of 2012-13 only had three points at this stage but finished 11th and Alex Neil’s team of 2015-16 had eight points but went on to be relegated. It’s all still to play for, in spite of an undeniably awkward and frustrating start."
Did you miss Jones's goal Zog, Liverpool's third, which Raya would very probably have saved but for the deflection off Ajer?
