They've got jobs which actually allow them to be at home occasionally. Where they don't have to piss in a bottle. They've been proved absolutely right in staying away, because the foreign lads working for way below minimum wage are being pleaded with to come back. The slave wage will continue.
I don't believe that's true tbh, they work above their country's minimum wage as far as I know. What is the difference in hourly rates.
It’s true mate, I’ve came across all kinds of low wages and from £9 an hour. British lads won’t do it but the likes of stobbards who flood the markets won’t pay what the British lads want. It’s not just driving we do as we’re expected to load the trailers and unload them especially store deliveries. I’ve walked away from jobs cause hauliers expect me to jump into fork trucks and loads my own wagon, for me that’s 2 different jobs and you don’t get any extra
Well your figures seem spot on but Poland seem to be ok still as they have a much smaller population, 124.000 is still a hell of a lot of missing drivers though.
Exactly and that's just European drivers. There's a shortage all over the world. The USA are crying out for drivers.
New Zealand, too New Zealand Are In Desperate Need Of Licensed HGV Drivers (2019) - Major truck driver shortage being addressed | Stuff.co.nz (2021) Australia. It says to due to the pandemic. They must mean by the Brexit pandemic? A shortage of truck drivers in Tasmania and nationally is causing major challenges - ABC News
It’s strange how they’ve all come at the same time across the globe. Dark forces I tell you, dark forces.
I’d prefer to talk with people who have the brains to understand that well evidenced research can’t be negated by one person’s experience and and who were raised to have empathy good day sir
Perhaps, well definitely, not as a human being, but what I wouldn't give for a PM who got rid of people who couldn't do their job whether they were mates or not, and took every ministerial ****-up as a personal slight.
Leaving Europe was supposed to make things better for us. But whatever goes wrong we're told 'Yes but things are just as bad in Europe'. So was this fuel crisis inevitable, was it always planned to give work visas to European drivers or bring the army in.
