We could have been out of the game by half time. Kept alive by Degea. The Villarreal goal woke us up. I was almost praying for them to score so that we can get rid of that ****ing tentative play. if Ole hadn’t brought in lingard and Cavani, I would been seriously pissed. Moral of the story tonight: Do NOT ****ing sub CR when you ****ing need a goal.
What a bunch of ****ing hypocrites some of you are. One second you have Ole out the door, the next he makes excellent substitutions, wins the game but you have him down as a tosser. ****ers.
What are you talking about, GF? This was a game that was barely won against an inferior side. I really don't see a cause for celebration here as the game illustrated just how weak we are as a team yet with brilliant individuals. And that problem only points to one massive area of flaw and why most don't rate our chances of doing anything with the squad that we have... coaching/management.
I am so bloody excited that we’ve won. Last few seconds of the game. I am not going to talk about Ole or any one else. ****ing great as I didn’t see it coming in the first half.
Don't worry mate, when we're losing at home in the league again or getting knocked out of another cup competition then you can tell it how it is
We are only a few games into the season and already there is so much negativity. Not sure why, especially after such a good result against a stubborn side.
Woah don't label this at the team. They're doing the best they can with a rubbish man at the helm. Be in no doubt, they are saving his bacon at the moment, so I have nothing but respect for them.
I’ve always thought that phrase rather strange. Like the headline in the press” X rescues Y team”. So strikers are paid hundreds of thousands a week to look pretty? Goal keepers are there only to take goal kicks? So when Lukaku scores in a 1-0 win does he save the bacon of his manager or rescues his team or is he simply ****ing do what he’s been recruited and handsomely paid to do? If Degea makes excellent saves, isn’t he simply doing what he should be doing as an excellent GK playing for a top club? So if we had lost last night, the players wouldn’t have saved the manager’s bacon but wouldn’t have been to blame at all. All Ole’s fault. 100%. We win and it’s all the players credit as they saved his bacon. Ole doesn’t deserve an ounce of credit whatsoever. Like ****ing scumbag Craig Burley of ESPN says on every clip he appears on and again last night.
You’re missing the point, boys! We lost our first game to Young Boys. Got outplayed and barely won against a La Liga that came 7th in a rather poor league. This was supposed to be the easy group, yet it feels like we are playing mighty teams of European football. We should absolutely not be sneaking in last minute goal against Villarreal given how we lost the first game in the group. We needed to get out of the gates with energy, but we ended up hanging on. Similar to our failure against Aston Villa waiting for last minute penalty which we ended missing. Why should we be this desperate against average sides with all the talents that we are spoiled with? Why?? Christian, the fact that your heart was pounding in that last few minutes says it all! And btw, this is not just about the ten games that’s been played this season. It’s about the reinforcement of a trend that started years back. We are a desperate team! From the beeps: “Though they ultimately collected three points, Solskjaer's side looked to be papering over the cracks as they once again failed to find any real cohesion in the final third of the pitch. Ronaldo, Fernandes, Mason Greenwood, Jadon Sancho and Paul Pogba all started in front of a raucous crowd, but there seems to be little connection between a frontline filled with attacking talent.” That critique is absolutely spot on. How the f is anyone going to suggest that a win is a win? A barely talent team plays as though they are complete strangers. Just diabolical!!
I don't watch Craig Burley so I have no idea. But yes, if the manager is inept and despite his incompetence the players through moments of individual skill or ability score then they have indeed saved his bacon. Conversely at a successful club, the manager sets the team and tactics and the players perform to those and score and the team wins. Everyone's worked together to achieve something which is sustainable and leads to progress and success. But where the players are indeed saving the manager's bacon it is not sustainable. It'll be inconsistent. You'll get the odd result like tonight but ultimately you get what we've been seeing at United for the past 18 months.
It’s a strange feeling here on this board. Instead of getting really excited by a win scored in the last minute, a lot of discussion is about how **** we are and how we were outplayed in the first half. It is almost that because we are United we’ve got a god given right to crush any so called non elite team. Any uncertainty should be eliminated if we play a team in 7th position in the Spanish league. Never mind the fact that even under Ferguson we’ve never beaten Villarreal and not even scored a single goal against them. Did any one realise that Villarreal had not lost a single game this season and were apparently very unlucky not to beat Real Madrid last weekend? (anyone can check this as I’m not arsed) I’m bloody overjoyed about this great win. I can’t be bothered about the negatives. But it is as if some of us would have preferred us to lose or draw just to prove their point about the manager. As I said very strange atmosphere on this board.
Again you make my point. We lose it’s Ole’s fault. We win, the players save his bacon. This is how any constructive argument is made impossible.
