    2.35 Warwick - Al Roc

Dropped in class and back down to what looks like a more suitable trip on first run back from wind surgery. If the rain keeps coming it could be getting the ideal conditions, too.

2:00 is the race of the day for me, with Paul Nicholls having the jolly with his last time out winner Friend Or Foe. I was impressed by its chase debut when winning a small field race. He however was quite free in the race and I do wonder if the race fell apart and he would find it tougher next time out.

Today he faces a few interesting horses, Lord Baddesley and Any News being two of them. These two are fascinating on chase debut, given their lightly raced profiles and the fact they are both horses that looked horses who will progress with racing.

Both will enjoy ground today with some cut in it, and both look fairly handicapped. but its the latter that I like of the two today. The Mulholland yard are in good form and I think they will have him cherry ripe for this return.

His form last season went to pot, which I think will mean they won't be running him to get him fit, but rather have him ready to go and market movements now suggest this is probably the case.

I won't aftertime the price, but wouldn't be rushing to back him at the prices now. What is more interesting is how these all go with a view to the future!

    Jumps racing is back!!!

A few 2YO races at Salisbury today. My darts fell on Everyday, who put in a better performance last time and perhaps bumped into an above average winner when a fair bit behind that day. It was a decent third place and the son of Cable Bay almost got up for second. I felt 6/1 was a fair price for the Hannon runner.

The second race on the card has some promising looking newcomers but I thought Wodeton might be hard to beat today. The son of Wootton Bassett was 2nd on debut and should improve as a horse trained by Andrew Balding. 5/2 was OK but there could be an above average one in there. Jimi Hendrix could be dangerous if the jockey gets a good tune out of him but Storm Castle seems a big price for a Gosden newcomer.

    1.50 Salisbury Everyday 6/1
    2.22 Salisbury Wodeton 5/2

    singles and a double

Not sure how he managed to get beat in that, even with missing two out.

@stick What's your thoughts on the Qpr bond? Worth the gamble on you getting promoted in the next few seasons <badger><badger><badger>

Two poor runs from mine. Everyday seems to lack pace and needs a mile already I feel. Wodeton just ran a stinker. He seemed likely to improve but has run a lesser race than his debut today. Up the hill backwards for him, as David Bowie once said. Jimi Hendrix made quite a promising start when 5th

Teona is out of the Arc because of softening conditions. I am with Hurricane Lane for the race because it seems sure to become a case of staying well on Sunday. He is drawn in stall 2. Adayar is out wider in box 11. Tarnawa is in stall 3, while Snowfall was awarded box 9.

Adayar and Tarnawa are too short for me. I can't really see it with Chrono Genesis or Deep Bond.

The only gamble is the club actually staying afloat. Not sure where you can get an 8% pa return on your money these days! Also as a fan you get to feel good about your investment and helping the club move forward.
If they do win promotion you really do hit the jackpot.

If I might butt-in on the Bond offer by QPR, I feel any investment here should come from the heart. As one of the oldest R's supporters still alive and kicking (just!) and is fortunate enough to be able to afford buying into the Bond offer, I would not expect to make a profit, but would be pleasantly surprised if I did!

So, think I'll follow-up on this, and see if I can work it into my wife and daughter's names, shouldn't be too difficult.

(Never heard of that other Rangers club, who are they?) :emoticon-0100-smile :bandit:

You won’t get an 8% pa return on that.

That’s not an acceptable photo of a horse either, you need something for scale. Say a big bin or something!!

I couldn't see Waness being beaten by Everyday as much as I'd have liked it to have happened. I think the Shadwell colt has a bit of class. Everyday has run 3 times in the just about 3 weeks and as much as I'm pleased to see 2yos out and running I think that's a touch too frequent for a young horse.. .
