There is such a thing as right and wrong, if I do wrong I expect to be punished not rewarded with a tap on the wrist accompanied with platitudes of our society must do better to make your life easier

 

You're acting as if I disagree with you, I don't. But in my view the punishment should fit the crime - I genuinely couldn't care less if a 19 year-old toerag is running around town with a kilo of a weed, but I absolutely do care about violent crime and strongly believe sentences for it are far too soft in this country with the opposite being true of non-violent crime which seems to always carry tougher sentences.

You can get longer for Class A than Rape which I find abhorrent to be honest.

I don't get involved in these pages, politics and religion and all that, but do read most of it and have to say you've come across very well and have not been at all confrontational, which I applaud, also I agree with a lot you say.

 

Thanks I appreciate that and my intention isn't at all to patronise or wind people up, as I said in the previous post it's a testament to the environment LUFC fans have created whereby you can talk openly and freely about these issues without fear of being stigmatised. Politics will never be personal for me, I have good friends on both sides of the political spectrum.

easing sentencing to over lenient terms is a major factor

It looks like the proportion of people getting a sentence and the length of those sentences has increased over the last few years



I can't say that the duration of the sentence looks long enough to me but that's what it is, apparently it is about the same here as well.

 

On the positive side, thank **** firearms are not easily available in the U.K.

Apparently a few days ago a yoof in Plymouth was being hunted for hitting a blind persons guide dog while the owner was out in his wheelchair with the dog.....now I can't imagine a guide dog was snarling or having a go at this cretin, so what has got into this **** head to hit the dog whether he will be found is doubtful I suppose but if so wouldn't it be nice for him to be covered in thick beef gravy and taken to the local dogs home full of friendly mastiffs/Akita's/rottys etc....here Fido dinners served.....gggrrrr

 

Probably on drugs. All drug dealers and users should be executed. That would solve a few problems.
