Unfortunately, as far as Allam vindictiveness is concerned, he maybe needs to maintain his meds, and you need to lower yours. I think the salient point here, is that any individual, single minded enough to build a sufficient fortune to feel they can bankroll a football club, and that wasn't based on inherited privilege is probably going to have similar personal characteristics to Assem Allam. All new owners are great until they turn the turn the money taps off and start ****ing up. Then whatever went before means nothing. Let's face it, if we as a club under present ownership we're still in the top flight, flirting with domestic finals and European qualification then no one would give even half a **** about a ****ing gate... ... Or the debt, interest payments, spat with council, the sports hall 'arena' or whatever. Name change? They ****ed up there and ****ed up badly. They could have just registered the hull tigers trademark and started using it in emerging markets if they really wanted to develop the brand globally. But we know it wasn't about that. And now they may well have squirrelled off the locomotive plate to spite the 'anti Allam ctid types, and frankly they don't care about the moderates anymore. They' ll go through us to spite the militants, cos as soon as fans said no to Allam, it was always going to be a scorched earth policy to get as much cash out as possible and leave us worse than they found us.
The council installed concrete bollards around Victoria Square and at the ends of Humber Street during festival times, acting on the same advice. They also fenced off Walton Street Car Park by installing locked gates and they installed barriers, costing £250k on Guildhall Road. Anyone, except you would struggle to call that 'no action being taken'
Just like to pick you up on the two coats of paint analogy there if I may Ric. Briefly, the adhesion between surface coatings is dependent on a number of factors including the presence of any surface contaminants prior to the second coating being applied, the compatibility between the two coatings (example water based on top of solvent based will not generally adhere as well). Drying times versus 'overcoating' time can also impact on adhesion. The ensuing climate conditions the 'top' coat has to withstand may also impact on the adhesion between the two coatings as if the top coat (protecting coating in this instance) is breached it may lead to premature breakdown of the paint system (for example flaking of the top coat leaving the coating underneath intact for a period of time beyond the life of the top coat). Hope you don't mind me pointing this out .

That might be true for the glory hunters, but I would say it is simply not true, nor was it the case, for true City fans who despise the Allams. Many of the issues with the Allams came about when we were in the top flight. League position never was a factor. Saying what you said suggests a breathtaking ignorance about the reality.
Excellent post!!! We may face some flak from the forum Gestapo for going slightly off subject (of course, you are the culpable party) but it's worth it.I tend to favour solvent on solvent,I like the adhesion, smell of the substance and the finish provided by a good old fashioned environmentally harmful satin top coat...
This week, next week, next month, October, November, by Birmingham, second week November, never in a month of sundays, take your pick. Ah I see now you are thinking they are here already, you must have been taken in by the we will have new owners before the season starts bit, never happened mate.
Me too. Old school! All this water based crap for exterior finishing is just not on. I've decided to go with Zinsser solvent based to re- paint the outside of our house.
Wasnt that covered by the name change? Surely the gate and other general petulance precipitated from that event. Until then It was only a spat with the council, not fans, as well.
I wasn't going to waste my breath on a reply to this, but given other responses on other threads, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.......
Not exterior finishing, but on my guitars I tend to go with water based stain and a PU clearcoat - when I can't be arsed with 20 coats of oil and hours of buffing anyways. Generally looks spiffing and haven't had a finish fail yet.
Not to hand, no. I only built 3, years ago and they are in the hands of family members, though I'm seriously considering a crimson LP kit build over the winter.
The Council installed the bollards, along with most other cities, in response to the Westminster terror attack (and they're to stop access by vehicles, not people). The Walton Street fence and gate is only 3ft high and was to prevent travellers getting on there, not people. Unless you saw a letter that proves otherwise?
You posted over the week end that the council didn't take any measures at all ? Make your mind up because you really are splitting hairs not to be proved wrong on this. Put the spade away pal because your starting to make yourself look silly.
Scunthorpe United had a new twist on Gategate, on Saturday at 2pm their own fans padlocked the gates shut!
