I rarely post on other boards but have just seem the table and noticed United have just 2 points more than us. We've played City and Chelsea so far and tbf we are dogshit bad. So bad that no one will be surprised at us losing to Newcastle today. Nuno is one of the favourites to be sacked next and he's only been in charge for 7 Premier league games. This genuinely ain't a wum, but wtf are your board seeing? You've gone backwards after signing a world class defender, a top class winger and world class striker. Surely that is all on OGS?
Maguire was obviously short of match fitness. I can only think he was included from the start because of concerns about a very much in-form Jamie Vardy and Maguire's familiarity ... backfired massively on the day ...
Of course that the case, it's just obvious to most. And, you'd think a manager of a premier league football club would know not to throw a player who is clearly not match fit right in, right? What's it say to the likes of Bailly as well? His management on all fronts is absolutely piss poor. He can't coach, he can't plan tactically and he can't man manage. Yet he's still in charge. But, we're United and that, so.......... To coin his own brainless phrase. I'm actually starting to dislike him.
... to add insult, Bailly usually plays very well against Vardy ... Vardy is in his element against less mobile defenders
there is no denying the match was a shambles. Whilst Leicester turned up all revved up and highly motivated we played as if just turning up will be enough to win. That was a highly disgraceful performance. Leicester players fought for every ball and pressed high up leaving our defenders no time to breathe and to pick passes. Our attacking players played as if it wasn’t in their job description to defend or to press. Maguire looked unfit. Wasn’t Bailly a better bet than a half fit Maguire? But the most worrying thing for me was the utter confusion that seemed to reign. How can a team play against decent opposition if they are so unsure about what to do when they haven’t got the ball? We have lots of attacking players but few willing to defend properly. The team needs to go back to the training pitch and to address a multitude of issues. And yes that’s the job of the coaching team! I’ve said that Ole has no place to hide now. The (no easy) task of integrating CR into the team looks beyond him. Many top managers have failed and he has to find a solution very soon. If not we wouldn’t even get top 4 never mind the more lofty expectations that people here have. I have no doubt that if we have a poor run in the next few daunting weeks Ole could be out. The owners just couldn’t contemplate being out of CL after such massive investments. .
How much money do we make in the CL if we get knocked out in the group stages? 2 years in a row. Or is it 3, I forget. Hardly seems worthwile qualifying does it?
financially definitely worth it. It’s about the sponsorships and marketing. Many of the lucrative contracts are dependent on CL qualification or there are financial penalties. The most lucrative part of the CL money is in the league section of 6 matches. The first knock out round doesn’t match up. Of course if you do go through to the final, it’s much more. The United board has today reiterated their support for him. Apparently he’s still in credit but if this shambles carries on even they will have to take action. They ought to consider the question of “who else” now rather than wait until it’s done. Sorry but the ship for the title has now sailed. We are now in a real fight for a CL place.
Fair enough. And I agree with the rest. Especially about the board actually doing their homework. And it is NOT about who is available. That is not the priority. It's about who the best manager out there is. We're Manchester United and we should be able to attract virtually anyone. Simple question they should ask is who is the best man for the job out there. I would say Poch tbh. Btw if the title has gone, are we all agreed Ole has to go by the end of the season at the latest?
It’s ridiculous to already start thinking that we should have this man in charge until the end of the season. We are 8 games in and only five points off the top. This is the perfect time to act and rescue the season. The players will also respond to the change mentally. Pogba’s interview should tell you what you need to know. They have zero faith in Ole’s methods at this point in time. If we wait until the end of the season, then we run the risk further damage that would then take massive reconstruction effort all over again. So fkin wait? The stupid Glazers need to act now!
exactly, we are 8 games in and you are only 5 points off the top. Plenty of time for Ole to recover and chase the title ole in
