Surely it's over now. Sandgaard saw that with his own eyes.

    Adkins is finished at CAFC.

I think he will have to go BUT.....

26/5/19 - Phillips, Dijksteel, Bauer, Sarr, Purrington, Pratley, Cullen, Aribo, Taylor, Parker

19/10/21 - MacGillivray, Gunter, Lavelle, Famewo, Souare, Clare, Morgan, Gilbey, Blackett-Taylor, Stockley, Leko

For me, only Leko gets in the play off winning team on a man for man basis, in front of Parker. That's the difference.

Adkins can't make a fillet steak out of sausage meat and neither will anyone else.

Closing paragraph sums things up nicely.

However, defensively we are atrocious, and the midfield supply to upfront is not great.

I think we'll have a new manager by Christmas BUT I'm not sure if it will make much difference.

Last year less than 3 babies were named "Nigel". It could be zero. Nigel really is out of favour.

Personally I think Adkins should be given the rest of the season to finish the job off <cheers>

That may well be the case. At the moment most of my blame goes towards TS. He clearly set the budget too low in the summer and we bought dross as a result. His appointment of Roddy was also a bad mistake.

If we don’t bring in 4 or 5 top quality players in January then I think we’ll go down.

Will TS pay for them ? At the moment that must be a doubt. If you look at the quality of the players that RD bought in towards the end of his tenure compared to what TS has sanctioned, then I’m afraid it’s obvious why we are failing.

Changing the manager isn’t the biggest issue…….. investment is.

This squad is more than good enough for a mid table finish. Adkins has to go now to give a new man time to turn it around. Defensively we are a shambles. It seems we have to score three goals to draw a game. We are four points from safety. After Saturday's game it could be seven. Our club have never played in the fourth division. If things don't change soon that is where we are heading.

Who'd have thought that Roland leaving would lead to this?

All those protesters that hounded him out need to give their heads a massive shake - they forced his hand and only other people interested were the shysters like Southall, Nimer, Farnell, and Sandgaard.

If RD had stayed, you'd still be in the Championship with a much better squad - it really is as simple as that <cheers>

Sandgaard is not a shyster. He is investing in an industry, League one football, that he knows nothing about. He has admitted that the Standard was higher than he expected. Another mistake was not appointing a CEO who knows about this level of football. We seem to be making the wrong decisions both on and off the pitch.

I'd have to disagree with that DP.

    This squad is very poor.

Just look at our play off winning team from 2019 and compare it to the ****e we put out last night. There is no comparison. How many of yesterdays starting 11 would you put in that 2019 team ? And that was just a L1 team. As I said, for me it would just be Leko instead of Parker.

Not saying Adkins hasn't failed, but he can only do so much with the raw materials he has. I don't think JJ is the answer yet and who else would come to us that on paper is better than Adkins ? Plus if we have to pay him anything approaching £500,000 / £1,000,000 to get rid, I'd rather spend that on a decent striker or defender.

Yeah. We dropped out of the Championship with the smallest budget in the league (Roland authorised) and under the governance of the shysters he sold up to, when more competent buyers were trying to negotiate. But dob't let facts derail a fun narrative.

I can agree with this bit !

I don't think RD was a shyster either tbh. He was just another one who knew nothing about the football he was getting into and who was too stubborn to admit that you can't run a successful League 1 or Championship team without losing money. His appointment of Meire was his biggest mistake, but the team he had finally assembled for our play off win was decent and if Taylor hadn't got injured playing for Montserrat and if Chelsea hadn't shafted us with the Gallagher loan, then we'd still be a Championship team. Neither of those two factors had anything to do with RD and he had no control over them.

ESI were obviously a different kettle of fish and were basically just crooks and for selling to them I will always despise RD, but so far TS has failed to give us any players of the quality that RD was sanctioning in his last years with us.

If L2 is the price of saving our club from going out of existence, then I'll accept that, but our fans shouldn't blame the manager for failings much higher up the food chain.

Under EFL rules for every player we bring in we have to get rid of one.
Come on, TC you can do better than that. For a start Roland still owns all the assets, and secondly Andrew Barclay and another investor were willing to buy the whole lot but your darling Roland refused to talk to them. He ain't the kindly benefactor you make ahrt.

Honest question - Do you think Saandgard is an upgrade or downgrade from Duchatelet?
Would genuinely be interested to know, as so far all he has done is talked/sang a good game.
