I finished Squid Game this morning and quite enjoyed it, but I'd probably have enjoyed it more if I'd stumbled across it, rather than seeing all the hype first. Squid Game 2 is no doubt on its way and I'd suggest that they should stick to Korean only actors in the next one.
I think it was on this thread where someone suggested Alice in Borderland but I'm finding it far better than Squid Game. Currently, South Korea are producing some of the best SciFi TV around and its good to see it being adopted internationally but I can't understand why Squid Game got so over hyped. It's good but not that good. I think part of it is that people maybe haven't seen any Korean TV before and its a bit of a novelty.
It's a great documentary, I was fortunate enough to go the premiere on Shaftsbury Ave and have a few beers with a couple of those featured in it.
Not Netflix, but I'm just catching up on ITV's Manhunt: The Night Stalker, with Martin Clunes. The true story of how a copper came into a seventeen year investigation into a notorious burglar and rapist in South London and managed to catch him within weeks. Clunes is very good in it, as are almost all the cast, it's been a very good watch so far (I'm half way through it).
Think I posted about this a few weeks ago after the last episode I went to bed then went back downstairs n checked all the doors n windows !!
I can’t believe it went on for 17 years yet I never knew anything about it, granted I was only young when it started . Guess I should have watched the news a bit more at teatime instead of the simpsons
Did anyone else go to the weird ‘event’ during City of Culture year when they turned the multi storey on Lowgate into a Korean company with you supposedly testing IT products? Brilliant, and although no one got shot Squid Games has been really reminding me of it
a young woman in our group had a panic attack during the mock korean jail part of the experience. Had to be taken out ... not literally ... at least i don't think it was?!?
What did you think? I loved it (admittedly I didn’t have a panic attack but I could see why you might!)
Watching My Name another Korean one Girls dad gets killed joins drug barons gang to find the killer, teams up with drugs lord then joins police.
