Interesting thread on this story.... Guilty as (not) charged! In any other walk of life Paterson would be subject to dismissal and Police investigation. Not, apparently, when you are a pro-Brexit Tory MP (who was a Gov minister at the time this corruption started).
This is part of the latest Tory trend to separate themselves from previous Conservative governments. They can no longer blame The Last Labour Government, so they're acting like they're a new entity. It's easy when there's no challenge from the media.
One thing I noticed in Commons today: the vast majority of Tory MPs sat around or behind Sunak were wearing masks, barring a few outright scum such as Rees Mogg and Coffey who still didn't - but on the benches to the right of the dispatch box, barely any Tories were wearing masks It's almost as if they were making an effort knowing that the footage might just be aired outside the UK...
