I would have thought they would have some expert input into how much expense is needed to put city among the top 6. So they will know whats needed. One thing i wondered if fans had considered is will the membership to go up considerably next season to help fund the outlay. I am prepared for this and will go along with it as best i can. I do think the current price for one person is pretty good. I understand for families its much harder, so i incentives are needed there
In short, yes. The idea is to strengthen in January with a new manager and potentially a new DoF. I don’t have actual figures, but Acun is worth £100m alone and I’ve been told the backers are pretty well off. I expect they’ll invest to get us up in the hopes of getting their investment back plus interest. Obviously won’t be this season unless we somehow do a Fulham, but over 2-3 seasons a side will be built.
Remember my husband having a bit of fun with 'Happy Tiger' about this a while ago. That statement is not always true.
I have lived in 3 countries- England, South Africa and Australia and in one of them that is true, in one of them it isn't and in the other in some regions it is true and in others it isn't!
Can you imagine being a TV mogul, getting City back into the EPL, with a smattering of Turkish players, how that would go down in Turkey? I suspect he may have his sights on this?
Swanny's a bit of a pillock, but he's on the money here... To think that Hull City’s manager will not speak to the Hull Daily Mail nor the BBC’s Tigers correspondent, is quite frankly, embarrassing. Once again, it shows a complete disregard for the club’s supporters, contempt. McCann wouldn’t even talk to David when he tried to contact him and talk about the situation like grown adults, and again, that just shows a lack of backbone. Even if he doesn’t like the tone of his questions, what does that matter? Give your reasoned response and move on, it’s not that difficult, surely? Speaking to the media is part of the job, it goes with the territory and if you want to be a top football manager and be paid for the privilege, you have to expect that you will be challenged over your decisions, whether you like it or not. Questions are only difficult questions to answer if you’re scared to answer them and clearly the manager is, otherwise he’d speak to the two City reporters trying to cover the club and ask the questions the fans want asking. This behaviour from the club and its manager is only further highlighting how desperate it is for a change in direction, for a fresh voice and something to re-engage the supporters, because they’ve had enough.
He's a Leeds fan which isn't a great starting point. At the height of the name change shenanigans he was defending the Allams because they were still spending on players at that point. He was basically saying people should stop moaning because we'd signed Long and Jelavic. Personally that turned me off him.
Although born in Leeds, he actually supports/supported West Ham. He clearly has affection for City. I don't think he's a football fan of any club like we are (having played for several), but of course he has interest in his home town club and having played for them, just like he has for us. His views about the Allams have clearly changed over time ... as mine did. He often talks a lot of sense, both in his HDM articles and when he was on RH. I agree that the 'banter' with Burnsey sometimes went too far / went on too long, but it was also quite amusing at times and his comments about the game were generally good. But it seems people often just want to slate others for the sake of it.
Various Media outlets in Turkey saying it’s done. 30 million plus another 20 if we get promoted? be rubbish.
I suspect the headline should read 'Acun Ilicali Agrees To Buy Hull City'... Acun Ilıcalı Buys Hull City! Acun Ilıcalı's negotiations to take Hull City continue. The owner of the team largely agreed with the Egyptian businessman Assem Allam. It was reported that Ilıcalı will pay £30m for Hull City. Media boss Acun Ilıcalı has come to an end in the acquisitions of Hull City, one of England's well-established clubs. He largely shook hands with the Egyptian businessman Assem Allam, who owns the club. It was reported that Ilıcalı will pay £30m. Ilıcalı said, "I want to fly the flag of our country in England with the success of Hull City. I hope that Hull City will consist of Turkish people, from their coaches to certain players in the future. My goal is to create a team that makes a sound in the world." He will pay another £20m if promoted to the Premier League Hull City are competing in the English Championship. A further payment will be made if your team is promoted to the Premier League. It was reported that if the team is promoted to the Premier League, an additional payment of around £20m.
I don't care that much to be honest, and completely agree with you that people put way too much energy into hating commentators, pundits and so on. The 'banter' with Burnsy is just some light relief during quiet spells in the game. Burnsy is good enough at his job to not miss any action because of it.
So is this finally it ? The real deal. 30 mill. sounds like an offer that the Allams can accept (plus the additional 20 mill. if we get promotion to the Premier League). If as reported he has 100 million plus additional backers maybe our new Manager will be able to bring in the experienced players we need ? Fingers crossed !!!
