I think this is a bad move from Gerrard. If he stayed another year or 2 at Rangers and kept winning, he could leave and fail at a club like Villa and still get another crack due to his success in Scotland. With just 1 SPL I think he will have to restart if things don't go well with Villa. Big risk for me.
Sky will ensure that Ralph is bang in the odds market for Hearts next manager after Rangers poach Robbie Neilson.
Actually, Ralph is hanging on for the Aberdeen job - the current incumbent`s coat is hanging on a shaky peg. Ralph`s recent wearing of a tartan tie makes perfect sense now.
I'd be surprised if that wasn't a first step to becoming majority shareholder. You generally don't invest that much money with the intention of letting others call the shots, and while minority shareholders do have some influence it doesn't exactly reflect their percentage ownership.
I'd say Villa have just increased their chances of being relegated quite a bit with this managerial change. Not saying Gerrard won't be a good manager in time. But this is a big move so early in his career.
Looking at their fixtures there is a very real chance they go 5 games without a win They are home to Brighton and away to Palace in the next two. If they don’t win one of those they have City, Liverpool and Leicester (the latter admittedly in ropier form than usual this year) A real challenge
Wouldn't he prefer a Championship team to bring on, rather than a team lower down in the league stakes?? This is a story for useless hacks for the rest of the season. Ralph is going nowhere.
I'm torn on this. It is a gamble no doubt but it does have the potential to pay off big time. Until Liverpool come calling anyway.
Could look at that either way though. You don't get really easy games in this league but Brighton and Palace are certainly both opportunities to get points on the board. They get 4 points from those 2 then they have a couple of free hits with 0 pressure. He will get until the end of the season at the very least so don't think it will make a difference.
I know what you mean..No disrespect to Gerrard but my nan could manage Celtic or Rangers and not fail.
