We're pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached to sign Maduka Okoye on January 1, 2022. The Nigerian goalkeeper joins from @SpartaRotterdam where he will return on loan until the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
One who will never play for us or one for the future to replace Foster/Elliott? https://www.watfordfc.com/news/official-watford-reach-okoye-agreement
Craig Shakespeare could join Claudio Ranieri's coaching team at Watford following his exit from Aston Villa. Shakespeare was Ranieri's assistant at Leicester when they won the Premier League in 2016. (Football Insider)
Looks as though he doesn't like catching the ball - but does look pretty agile. About the same height as Costel Pantilimon - I just hope he turns out to be better.
Bachmann not happy again. Guess it's kind of good he doesn't just want to be 2nd choice but not sure speaking out in public when away on International duty will help his cause. The club would rather deal with any issues in house. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/19704663.daniel-bachmann-considering-watford-future/ Of course with this new keeper coming in next season he must doubt his future even more.
Didn't realise there was ANOTHER International break, here are the called up: Joshua King - Norway World Cup qualifiers against Latvia (November 13) and the Netherlands (November 16). Ozan Tufan - Turkey World Cup qualifiers against Gibraltar (November 13) and Montenegro (November 16). Daniel Bachmann - Austria World Cup qualifiers against Israel (November 12) and Moldova (November 15). Craig Cathcart - Northern Ireland World Cup qualifiers against Lithuania (November 12) and Italy (November 15). Ismaila Sarr - Senegal World Cup qualifiers against Togo (November 11) and Congo (November 14). Imran Louza and Adam Masina - Morocco World Cup qualifiers as well against Sudan (November 12) and Guinea (November 16). William Troost-Ekong - Nigeria World Cup qualifiers against Liberia (November 13) and Cape Verde (November 16) Francisco Sierralta - Chile World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay (November 11) and Ecuador (November 17),
I can fully understand him wanting away really - if that is what he wants. Regardless of what anyone thinks - and there are some making comments in that Wobby article who don't appear to have the power of thought - he is an international standard goalkeeper, playing for a country currently ranked 23rd by FIFA. Yet he can't get a game for his club - I'd be the same.
Agree - he will be worried about his spot in the National team and probably under pressure to get 1st team football .
He seems to place some store in being with some mates. www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/19710933.maduka-okoye-rejected-premier-league-clubs-join-watford/
Dahlberg signed a new contract? Means him and new keeper to be competing for number one spot next season?
WTE captained Nigeria to another World Cup qualifier win. 2-0 away to Liberia. They top their group, two points ahead of 2nd place Cape Verde, with one match remaining - at home to Cape Verde.
Two goals in ten minutes by Sarr give Senegal a 2-0 first half lead against Congo in their World Cup qualifier.
