tbf, surely we all know where Barcullona is coming from and can see / agree that his underlying point is right. Supporting City at home had become far too sterile. Maybe there could somehow be 'encouragement' for at least the East Stand to be our version of Fernabace like support, with one stand (West lower) being marketed more clearly for those that want a radio in their ear, don't want any standing up or whatever. Some other clubs at least part manage it, maybe we could too and go further. I'd love to see it.
Another who thinks everyone should share their views and those who don't should be cancelled, no platformed...?
I like an atmosphere at football, not people with their ear pressed to a radio whilst they open their sandwich box and swill things down from the contents of their thermos flask.
I am not. I merely offered my view that listening to a game on the radio that you arecsat watching is absurd.
I know some don't like Burnsy, but many do and I'm sure reinstating him on commentaries will be one of the first things that happens when the takeover goes through and rightly so. Ideally, it would be used an opportunity to bring in a new co-commentator, as Swanny is fairly universally disliked, but I think it's unlikely.
It's a perfect opportunity for a boat load of clean slates to be handed out and relationships built up again. The club needs the local media and vise versa. Nail on head re swanny though. It's time we had an actual club legend doing it. Calling swanny one is embarrassing and insulting
And yet those with their radio, butty box and flask can buy a ticket just like you and are entitled to enjoy the match in whatever fashion they like within stadium rules. The culture of football in this country is not the same in the others. If you want a regular standing, singing, chanting experience then your best bet is E2-4 or as an away fan. Berating others because they don't participate in the same way that you do is not going to encourage change.
Anything remotely any good in Hull is routinely referred to as iconic by the HDM. Swanny isn’t therefore he can’t be any cop.
Well the good news is, the new guy has made his fortune in media. So communication and promotion should be something high on the agenda..
There a lot of clubs in this country with far more standing, often on 3 sides. We have a pitifully few standing and singing, outnumbered by the away fans who do. I guess some people want an atmosphere that is lively like a football match should be, others want one like a theatre. We have too many of the latter which is why the atmosphere is so poor a lot of the time.
