Smith to Norwich it seems so he'll get a quick chance for some revenge. Has a club ever been the opposition for a manager's final game at one club and first at new club consecutively before I wonder.
Not sure, and I see it as a positive rather than a negative (not saying you think it is negative). Smith has a new team that he wants to put his ideas to which hopefully will take a week or two. Ralph knows what to expect from Norwich and also the new 'Smith' Norwich, so hopefully he can set them up to make the media talk about "Smith can now see the size of the job in front of him" rather than the old new manager bounce thing that gets spouted about all the time.
Well, things could ever improve from that start I guess, so he could quickly become a hero the following week, as they may only lose 9-0 then.
He has a big job in front of him IMO, a club that is on the cusp of stastical relegation with not a lot of money to invest in January and a fairly average squad. I imagine he will receive a nice little bonus if he keeps them up. That said, I have a soft spot for the club as a distant family member was their manager in the 80s. I don't think the change will mean a different result on Saturday. Who's doing the match thread? 2-0 SFC
I wonder if it's ever happened before that a team has faced the same manager in 2 consecutive league games?
I think it has with the same team,if I remember correctly (if) they used to play home and then away fixtures on consecutive days over the Christmas period.
Benjamin Mendy charged with 2 more counts of rape, now charged with 6 counts plus one of sexual assault.
I need a match thread! I'm holding out for a match thread 'til the end of the night. It’s gotta be Vin, cos he’ll get us a win And Norwich are utterly sh*te.
The fixtures this weekend are fascinating . I cannot see Gerrard's first match against Brighton as being a pushover whereas the Brentford v Newcastle game will either see the former slide ever closer to the relegation zone or set Eddie Howe up for an under-whelming start. Watford will probably not get much joy against Man Utd .You would also have to fancy Palace against Burnley and Spurs against Leeds. I feel that this weekend could be very significant or Saints if we can take three points of Norwich. On paper, it looks like being quite an important weekend of fixtures if the results follow form. Getting 20 points before Christmas is usually a good sign.
It looks to me that if everyone is fit for Leicester then Vestergaard is 5th choice centre back (in a back 3 system - so second reserve) and Bertrand is 3rd choice left back Surely not the intention of either the players or the club. I know Vestergaard was an emergency signing due to injuries but he’s been so poor that he can’t even take up the role he was signed for
