I'm probably being dense but what's the issue with the pic? Sartori's always been on about us linking up with Uruguayan talent and I assumed that's what this is to do with.

 

We have been led to believe Methven is no longer a part of the club, and is not in a position on the board. While this picture could just be a coincidence, hmmm..

 

I thought he was still on the board technically just with little to no say on the running of the club. He's probably just invited himself along on what would basically be a holiday while Sartori does something towards his pet project.

 

Methven with SAFC gear on … I feel sick.

 

As minging as it is, he still has a shareholding I think, doesn't he? The photo must be authorised by the club if they are wearing the gear I'd have thought. It's all a bit strange imo. Just raises unnecessary questions.

 

I think that is the case but still, it’s ****. It’s the fact Harvey is out there too and he has a key role at the club these days. You’re bang on about unnecessary questions…

 

Eventually getting these young Uruguay lads coming over? I'm clutching at straws a bit trying to link it to the recruitment.

Didn't they know each other before their involvement with SAFC? Presumably that's how Sartori was brought in in the first place. Like you, I thought Methven still held shares. I genuinely feel that people are choosing to be offended by things like this and by Johnson's throw away comment about other people's expectations.

 

Yeah I think it's true that they're friendly. I know quite a few would have liked it if Methven had been taken out back and humanely put down but as far as I know he's still on the board and he's entitled to tag along on stuff like this. No big deal as far as I'm concerned.

I doubt this is anything remotely major going on that would concern or undermine KLD in any way. Just keeping busy during the break.

 

Yeah these were my thought also. We were never told that he was no longer a part of the club, just that his part has become considerably smaller and much less significant

 

If this was some major initiative from the club and it was being fronted by Methven it wouldn't bother me massively but I could understand a negative backlash. However none of us knows what's going on here and I doubt it's anything important.

 

We've had a toxicity within the club and fanbase for a decade. It's a massive massive shame and evidently it is holding us back.

 

The fact that Methven is part of a SAFC delegation in what is a significant project, would suggest to me that that the "old guard" of Salmon Pants and the Chancer are still very much alive and kicking within the corridors of power at SAFC.... This is kick in the nuts. I thought he only held shares until the day arrives he could cash in as and when Sunderland started being successful and he and Donald could make a few quid.....It appears not to be the case. My feeling of a huge change within in the club has just evaporated.
