Did you actually read my post are are you just joining in?
I simply said that there will be some women that are better managers than some men.
OLM mentioned an academy manager at Forest Green. I know for a fact she’ll be a better manager than me because I’m tactically ****ing clueless!

What in his post is an example? Or what examples do you have in the corporate world? (If it’s negatively affected you then presumably you considered taking that organisation to a tribunal?)

Unfortunately I can count myself as sexist.
Reason being, in my season pass seat in the East stand at the Circle, the two young girls sat next to me were very very knowledgeable about the game, their tactical knowledge and insight were better than my own.

The reason I say I find myself sexist is, why was I so surprised that these two young (mid twenties) girls knowledgeable about football?

I mean why shouldn't they be?

I acknowledge most of what you say thanks for educating me on employment policy
Did you see the reference to BBC news presenters is that not an example ! Pick out what you want and ignore what you don’t
I am sure in the future there MAY be female football managers but it’s going to be many years before as my first post says , they fully understand the male game not just the rules and formations !

I did read your post. The issue I have is that it is just an opinion until we have a body of evidence (in the form of a number of female managers managing clubs in the EFL). Your point about your own abilities is not something I can challenge!

Den, re. Spring's post, do you not watch tele. Not just BBC news as he mentioned, but have you not noticed anything going on with adverts?
Nope, it didn't directly affect me as such, but yes indirectly and with awareness of what is going on in practice. Given my role, I'd have known exactly what to do had I been directly affected!! I'm now out of it all, and glad (FIRE).
Let's use the example of the growing pressure on FTSE 100 boards to increase their quota of anything but white males!
I'm not going to go further as I'll just get branded as something I absolutely am not (as well as wasting my time explaining things we all know are happening in practice).
...... and well done on getting a few more posts towards 1500 pages :emoticon-0105-wink:

You get it the other way around don't you, Phil Neville managing England ladies for one. They must have made him face the corner or something.

I genuinely have not seen box ticking. I have seen a change in diversity in boards etc and all the evidence suggests that is a good thing for those businesses.
As for any broadcaster they'll simply employ people that they think a lot of their viewers want to watch. They are more diverse as viewers of football are more diverse. It's a business decision as far as I can see.

(I didn't realise it was this thread when I posted though...then I did realise it helps my sweepstake potential...sorry about that! <laugh>)

People who tend to not like the idea of diversity view diversity as box ticking when it suits them, but if a white male is appointed then that's just 'well he was the best for the job'. How do people become 'the best for the job' if never given the opportunity in more senior positions to prove themselves? The idea that ALL people of diverse backgrounds MUST be incompetent and unsuited to the role just because no one 'like them' has ever done it before is just pure rot.

No need to challenge, I'm relaxed about my lack of ability as a manager.

But you're arguing a different point

I wasn't saying there are women who would be better managers of clubs in the EFL. As you say neither of us has any idea whether that is the case.

All I said was that some women (lets use Hannah Dingley from Forest Green as an example) will be better managers than some men (lets use me as an example) That isn't an opinion, (the overall point, not just those examples, and not comparing with any existing mens managers) ....it's just maths, and bound to be the case with 3.9m women to choose from (and believe it or not there might even be some men in the other 3.9m that would be worse than me!)

I can't see why a woman would be worse at the job than a man. A woman that goes through the exact same coaching badges and programmes as a man is just as qualified, why would she know less about the game than a man with the same qualifications?

    Doesn't make sense at all.

I would add myself to that list!
I get what you are saying. I think until we have a situation where some clubs in a league are managed by males and some by females, we will never know for certain. That was my point which I then transposed onto the EFL and League One scenario.
