Two weeks since "The countdown begins".. wonder if there'll be any update in the next few days. HDM keeps saying "within 3 weeks" without acknowledging that time passes so it should be "within 10 days" by now.
It from the article Baz put up last Thursday, I've no idea why HDM decided to tweet that bit again yesterday.
Hull City: Owner Assem Allam says club put up for sale - BBC https://www.bbc.com › sport › football Sep 11, 2014 — "I will give it away. Out means I'm out. Have I ever said anything and gone back on it?" he said. Allam said he and son ...
Thanks for posting that again. Some getting, and likely to get, a bit soft now the takeover is finally happening, saying things like the old man ain't so bad, it's just the son. No, they're both as bad (in relation to 'our' football club), just in different ways. But one of the things they both have in common is that they are full of ****. "When I say something, I mean it," the 75-year-old Egyptian said Allam, who took charge of the club in December 2010, was asked what he would do if a buyer could not be found and the legal appeal was dismissed. "I will give it away. Out means I'm out. Have I ever said anything and gone back on it?" he said. No room for mis-interpretation there. It's crystal clear what he said. A decade of lies, bull ****, vindictiveness, **** you's. Thankfully we will now be rid of them from 'our' football club.
While we're on this, it's bothered me for years that people underestimate and/or underplay how bad they are. Most people still seem to think they just made some unpopular football-related decisions but it's never been just that. They've gone after fans who they don't like in their professional lives just out of spite. I sat across a table from Ehab where he bragged about how the groundsmen he sacked got nothing out of him when it went to court, he was really wound up and the point he really wanted to make was that they got no money because he's big and powerful. I spoke to a lady from one of the local clubs they booted out of the Airco and she described how he smirked in court as the details of what he'd done were read out. Their treatment of so many people has been abhorrent. Then there's the sheer amount of effort they put in to twisting the truth, fighting the fans, the council and everyone else, and all the legal battles. They're spoilt, rich people who use their money to get their own way and take pleasure in demonstrating their power over normal people. It was never just about the name change.
