Toughest game of the season so far. As long as we don't fall apart like we did against City, I'll take that.
Losing to Liverpool isn’t what bothers me, but losing in the way we did does bother me. Every time we go there, we always get battered and it’s infuriating. Palace and Brighton put up better showings at Anfield than we do. We really need to find a way of stopping getting trounced there every season.
Yeah we totally fell apart yesterday. After Tavares gave the ball away and they scored it just killed any fight we had. After that it was just damage limitation and they still scored twice again. You have to say that Liverpool are playing some amazing football and they were just far too good for us, but we need to find a way of not folding against the big teams. That's 11 goals we conceded in the 3 games against Liverpool, City and Chelsea.
I was at Anfield on Saturday. My main takeway was aside from Salah's ability the main difference between the two sides was coaching. This is why I still very sceptical about Arteta. Klopps side press and play with such intensity - the workrate is next level. They made us look lazy. They never give you a moments rest, everybody knows their roles and is confident in what they have to do. We are over a year in and still quite disorganised. There's also clear confidence issues, we make mistakes, seem nervous. I am not solely blaming Arteta for that as its been this way for a few years but the worry is he has'nt fixed any of these issues. You could argue Liverpool are just a better side (and they are) but the bigger difference here comes down to the managers. Klopp has a clear identity and style and his side are confident and believe in what he is coaching.
