Jeez why are people being so literal? I was making a point that Covid is very unlikely to kill me. Maybe I was slightly exaggerating but my point still stands. I'll wear a face mask in shops for other people's sakes but I'm personally not worried about Covid any longer.
I mean, sure. The odds of you, a 30 year old, dying of any cause in a given year are low. If they weren't we wouldn't have many 40 year olds. But of the things that stand a chance to kill you, few stand a greater chance to kill you than COVID. The odds there are improving, thankfully, and will continue to improve as vaccination and treatments improve. But in the aggregate, a lot of healthy 30 year olds who didn't have anything to fear from COVID will actually turn out to have had something to fear from COVID. And if all the things that could kill you had the same odds of killing you as COVID, it'd be time to get your affairs in order, heh.
Your lack of self awareness to post that after your postings on this thread over the last 18 months is astonishing.
Family coming over to the Netherlands tomorrow, current rules still apply so far as I can see. Dutch numbers also rising sharply. Documents required Quarantine declaration and proof of vaccination Travellers must complete a quarantine declaration. The declaration can be completed online. You can then show the declaration on your smartphone. If you do not wish to complete a digital declaration, or are unable to, you can download a printable PDF. On the declaration, state that you are exempted from mandatory quarantine because you are fully vaccinated. Print the declaration before you travel and have it with you during your journey. You must also show proof of vaccination before your departure for the Netherlands.
Most countries are asking for a “Locator form” to be completed, so they know where tourists are staying. I would guess that the same rule exists for the Netherlands? Similarly they will have to complete one when returning to their home country, so they can be traced and contacted if they were on a plane/ship that includes passengers found to have been infected with Covid.
My daughter & two grandkids all with UK passports are coming over to stay over Xmas from the US - are there different requirements for them as even though they all live there (and the kids have US passports as well) they are UK citizens?
Best to look on the Government website for up to date info, but I will stick my neck out and say that they can’t carry guns.
How is she going to get my AK47 over then? As an aside and going off topic (who me?!). The first time I went to see her and her now husband, he took me to a gun range. I had never shot a gun before. The first gun I ever fired was an AK47...scared the **** out of me!
A new variant of Covid is being monitored. Believed to have originated in Botswana and only 10 cases identified, to date, but some are in South Africa and 1 case in Hong Kong, in a person who travelled from South Africa. The “Nu” variant has a 32 spike mutation, compared to a 16 spike mutation in the Delta variant. The fears are that it will not be stopped by the current vaccines. Keep wearing the masks. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/...ant-nu-south-africa-vaccines-b968170.html?amp
My wife tested positive on Monday, she is feeling better today after being poorly for a few days. I have been testing negative throughout, I am trebled jabbed, and feel absolutely fine.
The only time she left the house was to have her plaster changed last Wednesday. Our friend who took her( who is also trebled jabbed) is still testing negative. Poor girl has certainly been through the wars lately.
Thankfully the government haven't wasted any time adding South Africa plus other southern African countries to the red list.
