Which is why I said partially to blame. Not everyone will have have the same ethos as you. You've already said they were bad bosses so therefore there is blame, otherwise how did you come to that conclusion? No one can account for individuals mistakes
The manager has the choice to get rid of who he likes in the window, the owner has the choice to get rid of the manager if they under perform Solskjaer being a prime example
Go back a bit further to the Portsmouth game. That was one of the easiest games to get right tactically....which was basically chuck tactics out the window and go route one. Long balls into the box for Ross and AoB, and look to win the second ball. He couldn't even get that right. LJ cost us that game imo.
Unfortunately we have players when they cross the white line playing poorly without confidence. We have a manager who keeps tinkering with tactics/formations/players, which is not helping. Worst of both worlds... less see how we get on in the next few weeks.
This manager/coach picks the team and controls the game plan from the touchline he persists in doing the same thing over and over expecting different results, this is his failing, and he cant seem to change. It cant go on indefinitely that's a given.
Talking about us not playing down the channels, in his after game chat, he just cant face up to his failings.
Precisely, no one can account for individual mistakes but, as football fans, we often hold managers responsible for the mistakes of their players. The full backs consistently fail to prevent crosses coming in and we blame Johnson. He could be working on that every day with them, but if it happens again in the next game he'll still be called a **** manager.
well mainly because if they are making mistakes, he either changes that or drops them. He doesn't just carry on regardless However if players are failing to cut out crosses I blame them. I dont blame them for abject performances as a whole across the park for 90 minutes. This isn't about individual mistakes and you well know it. Its about abysmal performances throughout, with players appearing to not know what to do
Very good argument you are making for sticking to the long term plan. Just curious to why you think LJ is the man to see this plan through? Personally I havent seen him show anything that is worthy of him being given time to see it through. We bottled the back end of last season (again) and even at the start of this season when we were on the really good run we weren't blowing teams away and controlling games, his changes were always negative and we ended up hanging on in certain games. These latest run of results he has shown nothing, to me, to say he can get it turned round. It was a somewhat lucky win against Ipswich and to be 1 up against 10 men at half time to a team bottom of the table and not go on to win is not acceptable. For the record I didn't want him in the first place. I still don't know what style of play he is trying to instil on the club. If it is indeed a 5 year plan I would have preferred to have a manager who would grow with the club I cant see LJ being that person. Would have much preferred some like a Freddie Ljunberg to come in wanting to prove himself with a good reputation for playing football with the support of the people above him.
from where we were to now in poor performances, i don't see LJ identifying the problem he defiantly hasn't fixed it , and all the while we are abysmal to watch i notice the home crowd dropping all the time, new support depends on and comes from the youngsters if their dads don't take them, we will miss out on Generations. Who wants to pay and watch crap which it has been of late, there is always competition to spend your money on we want entertainment not a team that cant string 4 passes together.
I must be the only one but I think we have to stick with LJ and let him build something. We sack him and that's us on 4th manager in 4 seasons. And we're roughly in the same position. There is this fantasy that a new manager would come and automatically we would get promoted. Absolute baloney. I honestly believe this squad of players is probably a play off team at best. Possibly a second place if lucky. The last two windows have been okay and you can see improvements but it will take another two or three before we have a squad that you can say 'that's nailed on promotion' Sorry but I know everyone is hurting and angry but the current downturn in form is not simply on shoulders of LJ. If you think otherwise you are being short-sighted
