Arteta has spoken about how much he would like to bring Arsene Wenger back into the fold at Arsenal in 'some capacity'. Apparently the two have spoken and Arteta says that whilst he cannot guarantee any timescales or what role Wenger would have, it sounds as though Wenger is open to the idea.

Arteta said "there has been communication" with Wenger when he was asked if a formal offer had been made to bring the Frenchman back to Emirates Stadium.

"I talked to him when we went to see the film and it was incredibly pleasant to see him and chat to him, and hopefully we can bring him close," he said.

"What I can say is that I would like him to be much closer, personally, to me because I think it would be a great help, I think it would be a great help for the club," he said.

"Things take time and I think he has to dictate those timings. What I can say is from my side and I can say, I think, on behalf of everybody, is that we would be delighted to have him much closer."

    Thoughts ?

Yep all comes down to that really.

I’d like to see him brought back into the fold on the board in a similar role to the one David Dein did, because I think our board lack football men.

Arteta also feels that he can benefit from having Wenger at the club and as long as he’s not involved in the day to day running of the team, which I think Arteta is beginning to get right, then it could be a really positive move for the club.

Also should probably add I'm kinda jealous United are getting Ralf Rangnick as an interim.

This is the guy who invented the pressing style Klopp, Tuchel and Nagelsmann are using soo successfully. The guy knows football.

Can someone tell me what the new United second interim manager has actually won !

I understand that he invented pressing (he didn’t though, btw) but did he win anything with it

Hasnt won many major trophies. German Super Cup (FA Cup) and 2.Bundesliga

But he brought Leipzig from the league below to finishing 2nd and qualifying for the Champions League.

Nobodys claiming he invented pressing - there's a distinct style that has been adopted by Klopp, Tuchel, Lowe, Hasenhuttl, Naglessmann etc.. (Gegenpressen)
