Canny day that apart from those who have had their roofs ripped off. 7 points from 9 with loads of injuries.

    stream came back :)

with the way that wind was howling around this was never going to be a classic, we took advantage of the wind and they never, basically.

more than the win (which was needed) i was happy to see a much improved performance but as i said at half time i hope it was not just down to the conditions, we did seem to have far more urgency today than in recent weeks, one thing about pritchard which is showing more week on week is the way he puts himself about, little niggly type player who wants to get the ball forward although needs work with his forward(s) as to where/how they want the ball put through but nice to see some forward thinking again.

gooch and doyle both had better games i thought, dajaku dare i say his best when starting...a way to go yet and i will not get carried away, better and more balls into the box but they still need a bit work to get them right for stewart.

7/9 in a week with two away games i think most would be happy but add an improved performance and things are suddenly looking a wee bit brighter.

    Excellent win
    Everyone worked their socks off
Gooch wingback and Winchester in midfield works
    Away support was immense.
Jury still out on Dajaku but he's young.
Oh and Well done LJ got it right today

Delighted with that, the weather conditions deteriorated rapidly in the second half and we defended very well against a sustained aerial bombardment when they had the wind behind them.

Over the moon for the 2500 away fans who have just spent 2 hours having a freezing cold wind blasting them in their faces. Safe journey home to all of them.

If a team had come to Sunderland and played like that we'd have said they'd deserved it imo.

When we go back to the sheff wed result I think we all would have taken 7 from the next 9. It is a good comeback by everyone involved. There are still weaknesses to work on, but one or two things also starting to come good, in particular Pritchard form. Fingers crossed we can keep pushing on.

MOTM for me, Winchester a close second.

How funny would it be if Arsenal lost to us after beating Newcastle <laugh>

There are no outstanding teams imo ...

.... just some with fragile bursts of confidence and momentum.

I said on the LJ out thread that if we won today that’s 7 from 9 and would that mean he’s turned it around?? I think he has and Christ the fella has had no luck with injuries. I’m really pleased with this weeks returns, well done LJ and the players and staff.

Playing there seems to have given Gooch his confidence back.
Game in front of him less decisions to make and with Three at the back he can still get forward
Think we now need a big strong ball winning midfielder in January
maybe two if rumours are right about O'nein possibly out for the rest of the season.
