Would it be a disaster also? Everytime we’ve went down we’ve rebuilt, come back up and progressed. Then we’d decide ah we are back and stop trying again. These guys would go back up, progress and progress, invest and invest. Relegation is never good but we are well positioned regardless.
Yes that is a problem but is more than offset by the position our overly frugal previous owner has left us in.
That is only for Jan mate, it's on a 3 year rolling period. We spend the so called 190m in Jan. that's it, we drop into the champ that is a guaranteed loss for that year, would effect us for 3 years after unless we fudged the sponsorship.
I don’t think we will spend that much mate. I think you’ll see maybe 100m. We will be fudging things and also accepting fines. I think we will see year on year investment regardless.
What I could see happening would be a new football team being developed. Riyadh United FC. Who have no FFP restrictions and start playing in the desert cup. They then "purchase" our **** academy graduates for £30m a pop. nice bug pay off for the **** player on a 1 year deal as they find other clubs to play for and voilla. Stick you friendly sponsorship embargo reet up yer arses.
That's a good point because that might persuade them to spend more in Jan, if they have private pre agreements with out of contract players in the summer. That seems likely given how heavily they’ve been linked with likes of Sule and Dembele.
Sule would be an awesome signing. I'm not convinced by Dembele. Not because he wouldn't transform our team but because of he's getting lots of injuries in Spain he'll get them here too.
Dembele is massively talented I don’t dispute that. He brings a Robinho type glamour to proceedings so I get it. However I agree with you, his injury record is of concern. The rigours of the game here is fully understood, we have very recent examples of players coping with Spain pace, but creaking or breaking under the PL pace. If he can’t stay fit in Spain then I can’t really believe he will spend much time on the pitch here. Yeah I like Sule. Good age, good defender, brings a high level club ethos with him. I’m not saying he is likely but it’s the type of out of contract player we could target if we stay up. I’m not convinced Eddie will be here if we stay up. Just purely on the basis of attracting players from abroad.
Who? We’ve not mentioned a single player we think we can get in January Put down that Pritt Stick young man
Ah I thought you were on about me and DPP discussing Sule and Dembele for the summer. I mean I would think that because you stated it in response to my post not Magdads Now you’ve shown this to be a clerical error on your part I can see how the confusion came about.
How does the loan system work?? For instance could we sign Gilmore? Like could Chelsea recall him and sell him to us if we put an agreeable bid in? Just I really like that lad in terms of quality.
Preferably tomorrow? I think all loans are different and dependent on contract. Chelsea, not needing the cash, probably farm theirs out on beneficial terms for the loaning club so I doubt there’s any clause for him or the better one, Gallagher.
Records are there to be broken mate. New owners understood this, realised we couldn't break points tally in first season so set the objective of first PL club to stay up without a win before Jan
