Have yellow cards every time ball kicked away, except when would have meant sending their player off, think it was Bogle. One of those refs who likes to be centre of things.
Not sure it mattered, we could be playing for another 90 mins and still not scored.. Imo was still our best player.. ran his socks off
looking dire Semenyo must start.. I have no faith in CM, he has some experience and might be over thinking things? DERBY NEXT........
Powder puff midfielders and strikers that was as bad as it gets-dreadful watch. Jan can’t come fast enough for this football club.
I woke up at 4:00 a.m. to watch the game, but my laziness got the better of me and I went back to sleep, and sadly I missed what apparently was a usual performance by City. This is starting to become a joke as I can't see any way out of this dross unless NP can find, and is allowed to spend money on, better players in the upcoming transfer window. We wander around lost in some kind of fog hoping that some day that it will lift and we will wake up in football nirvana, rather than living a lie about who we are, realizing that progression is all about knowing what you want and how to get it. Saying that we are not quite there yet is an understatement beyond belief and I expect nothing to change in my lifetime because that is the true historic mantle of Bristol City F.C. So sad really.
Our most influential midfielder seems to be Williams. We seem lost when he doesn’t play - which is 3 games in 4.
Inevitable when you consider our midfield, James, King and Williams out. It was always going to be tough. We did at least compete & were better than we were a while ago, hopefully James and Williams will be back soon.
No doubt you're right about scoring, January can't come quick enough. As for Massengo I see what you go on about his potential, the same way you wrote about Adelakun and Palmer. Where are they now ? Adelkun I'm not sure, but show pony wont be unhappy on his £20kplus a week salary. Yes 'he runs his socks off' is a fair assessment of Massengo. But I'm afraid he has lots to learn, have another look at Sheff Utd's 2nd goal. Until he learns and, tbf he's still young, and engages his brain as well as his legs he risks going the same way as the other 2. ps Palmer frustrates me as much as any player I've seen at AG. In some ridiculous way and I can't believe I'm writing this, I'd love someone to find the key to unlock his undoubted talent.
I just watched the goal again, and I sort of see where you're coming from, as he loses his runner; however, there should have been enough to cover that, so a bit harsh to say it was his fault imo. Both goals were woeful defending, the first goal had 4 players chasing fresh air and created a huge gap for Brewster. Defending like that, in a team who create little is very, very concerning...
Let’s make no mistake, we rode our luck for the win against Stoke. However the things that contributed to that win like the effort, the on pitch communication between players, players putting their bodies on the line to make blocks and crunching tackles, all that was totally missing from Sundays game against Sheff. Utd. Bakinson having had a good game against Stoke and had a years option triggered on his contract, was beyond shocking he was lazy, gutless and wandering around like a tit in a trance, I lost count of the occasions when with a little more effort he could have made interceptions or tackles to relieve pressure. The classic example was their first goal, he did absolutely nothing to prevent it whatsoever, he was as he was all game just wandering around doing nothing. Without Williams or James the midfield is being exposed to the weak levels of the past 2 years. Our passing was shocking, even short passes. Our closing down is extremely poor Vyner, Scott, Bakinson and Atkinson were particularly poor in this regard. Weimann has apart from the effort in the last 20 minutes of the Stoke game has contributed absolutely nothing in the past 3 games and needs a spell on the bench. Atkinson came on and was incredibly sloppy and vulnerable . Incredibly we could have even scraped a point from this abject performance had Wells just bothered to look up and pass to the unmarked Weimann instead of one of their defenders. Apart from his closing down which is appalling Vyner did ok in the rest of his game, ODowda at least put effort being played in an alien position and Semenyo was a breath of fresh air. With the injuries now beginning to pile up, we at least need to play with 2 specialist full backs, Scott and ODowda although putting in effort just do not cut it as wing backs, we need Tanner and Pring back and just hope that we can get James or Williams fit enough to come back. I would look at playing Wells up top, with ODowda and Semenyo wide and Scott in behind. Odowda, Scott and especially Wells go down far too easily at times, they need to be much stronger. Bentley Tanner. Kalas. Atkinson. Pring Massengo. James Scott Semenyo Odowda Wells
