To paraphrase Morecombe and Wise "he's played for all the right clubs, but not necessarily in the right order".

Keep on holding to your belief and we will wait for the queue of clubs for him in January.

PS:- Word is he is not world's best trainer + attitude, but i'm sure you are right.

Clearly myself and most people I sit with and others I speak do. Maybe it's because I can be objective, I will praise when praise is due and criticise when criticism is due.

Massengo is nowhere near the level of fitness that he started the season with, his injury whatever it was has definitely impacted on his normal fitness levels. For the Stoke game Weimann was blowing out of his arse by halftime, he suddenly came to life in the final 10 minutes and then put 10 minutes of incredible closing down all over the pitch, which was great and echoed by all 11 players on the pitch.

Not a loaded question Jiffie; just curious to read your thoughts,,,,,,.
If Palmer was not part of LJ or Cooper's styles then why did both managers sign him? (I'm ignoring Holden because like Pearson he simply inherited him).
When Palmer first arrived he was quite popular - so much so that the fans made up a song about him involving their wives!
I agree he is grossly overpaid - I don't think anyone would argue with that - but the lad certainly has (had) talent - do you think his inconsistency is just part of who he is, or is it because he isn't being played correctly?

Agreed, he was a forced purchase on LJ by MA who wanted to build relationships with Chelsea, who saw him coming a mile away and mugged us right off.

Firstly according to some LJ didn't sign him, he only signed players that have been a success, so Ashton must have signed him. All joking aside in this case I fear it may well be the truth.

As I touched on earlier the word is that his attitude especially in training is poor. There was a quote from LJ about his fitness and his weight, when he was not even making the match day squad for months on end.

For me he is another JET all of the talent none of the application or desire, it's like football funds his lifestyle but that's where it ends.

His initial loan period with us was good but towards the end performances dipped, since whoever signed him permanently, his performances have been mainly poor, he is meant to be a match winner, since signing how often has that actually happened? I remember one against the mighty Northampton and Birmingham away last season, the rest have been mainly abject, probably costing us more goals by losing possession in dangerous areas.

Steve Cooper is a much in demand coach and even he couldn't get anything close to consistency from him and gave up and was probably more than happy when we recalled him.

His stats make interesting reading, not great scoring or assists, but a lot of yellow cards and his injury stats are interesting no injuries since 2018.

We are lumbered with him until June 2023, it will be interesting to see if his 'professional pride' leads him to ask for a move?

Quite probably, but the 4 year contract that LJ signed in 2019 was a total acceptance of the way that things were and would continue to be and it was a recipe for disaster.

And it still is if you consider the contract to Bakinson. These will always be personal decisions from the top.

Really? and who would that be Gould? SL? or his little boy? i'm sorry I don't believe that for a minute

I would suggest that it is more of, we know that he has talent but lacks consistency and application but is young enough to improve and not costing us 20k per week.

Yes it is and based on the balance of probability, perhaps Ashton triggered the 1 year extension?

PS:- it's actually Onefer's most common phrase.

Great when loaned in? Performance dipped as soon as he was signed? Struggling with weight? Bad attitude in training? Expensive? Dropped? ........
Sounds almost identical to another one of our ex-players - a certain Mr. Tomlin!!
Tomlin had more raw talent IMHO than Palmer has, but their BCFC stories are very similar!

Might not be the same fitness as from the start of the season..........still fitter than the rest of the team...be interested to know his stats compared in the games he's played.. He's the one player, more than any other in our side, able to break up so much of the opposition moves/play,,,,,talking of your fav I'd love to know the stats on that.. this unnoticed by many of the critics, especially those that only watch the highlights!! (that's not a dig at you btw)

Whose my 'fav'? not for the first time you have totally lost me.

PS:- I agree about Massengo's fitness, however as I said before he is not a lot of use in offensive situations, unlikely to score or supply an assist, but great at breaking things up but often spoils it with his poor long passing, as I said in commentary Chris Honor kept repeating players trying to make 'world cup passes' and Massengo was certainly one of them.

    Stats being your fav!!
TBF to Massengo, most of his passing is short passes , not very often do they go astray. and most of his passes are quite intelligent passes .But I do agree with his finishing, he rarely has a shot but when he does it's poor, and needs a lot of work.... as to assists.. our strikers rarely score so assists will be rare too.......part of our problem up front...strikers runs....more often than not....poor to dreadful..
...I'd say it's more like Bakinson trying the world cup passing... the stats for those must be dreadful....it's rare I actually see a decent pass from him..

Wow I have read some **** but this actually takes the biscuit "as to assists.. our strikers rarely score so assists will be rare too".

How are they supposed to score without assists?. Oh yes supply their own assists as well as score.

    Wiemann 3 assists
    Martin 4 assists
James, Scott, King, Palmer, Pring, Vyner, DaSilva and Wells all with 1 each, a grand total of 1 more than the strikers themselves.

You really do watch different games, overall Martin has missed maybe a few chances, Weimann few more than Martin and Wells more than both put together. Of course I can apply your logic and say if you are correct about the runs which I don't agree with maybe they are pissed off at the lack supply and are no longer wasting energy making runs. Or trying to grow tall enough to reach some of the crosses especially from ODowda, who once more has zero assists.

By the way Massengo does not have a goal or an assist to his name since arriving.

<doh> For it be an assist they need to score....debating with you, it's like dealing with kids!!
<doh> Strikers need to make the runs to have chances......miss or score
And yes, I watch different games to you....you're too busy chewing the fat with ya mates!!

Where did I say that Massengo has scored or has an assist?
