Yeah Mateo is going to be the replacement in the 23s for Joffy

But if there is any truth about a first team striker/attacker then surely we need to see if its needed first. Brereton, Cabral and Diaz can all play at 9,7&11. Supposed to be the replacement/competition for Bamford as we need goals to stay up. My take is that by bringing a striker in would push Joffy down the list. That could only mean him going out on loan. By blooding him this season we could end up saving ourselves a shed load of cash? Is it too soon for Joffy

It could be too early but I'm not sure he looks like he can learn quickly and needs exposure and time playing premier games to become better. I know this may sound perverse and it would depend on his mental strength but I would play him against Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool. Provided he is resilient he will learn so much from these games and could surprise and lets face it do we really expect to win this games?

Let’s get the win today and keep a clean sheet and no more injuries. We’ll then be entering a tricky spell with virtually a full squad, no defeats in three and three consecutive clean sheets. It might make a world of difference, Chelsea are away in the CL on the Wednesday before they play us, a win today and a point against Chelsea would look very healthy

What we need is all white players to refuse to play for Yorkshire claiming victimisation, and I say this as a Yorkshireman

Think I read somewhere that Andrew Gale is taking Yorkshire CCC to court over wrongfull dismissal
Wish him the best of luck, trouble is he’s the wrong colour

Eah Gale plus Martin Moxon taking them to an industrial tribunal and also real legal route in court. Some players threaten to leave due to all coaching staff now gone too.

Wonder how todays woke journalists would have dealt with the YCC we grew up, whereby all players had to be born in Yorkshire. There were plenty of dads rushing pregnant wives over the border into white rose country to give birth, so kid would be eligible. Would there have been a term for that like Countyism or some such shyt.

My weekend forecasts for todays matches has been proved correct except I didnt factor in Cooper and Phillips having to leave the field, which means we were at 11th as predicted until Phillips went off, so then dropped to 16th until Paddy rescued a point and moved us up to 14th. Injuries yet again and why we MUST buy a top midfielder as we will struggle every season without Kalvin

Phillips went off immediately after the 1st goal Doc (before the restart). Not sure if that had an effect on the concession but it can't have helped.

Our sloppiness yesterday made us fall into the danger zone again. Looking at the table you can see that positions 1 to 11 are all but safe simply because with not even half the fixtures completed teams 11 and up have already got 20+ points, positions 12 down are therefore struggling to get up but finding it tough
    • Brentford
    • Palace
    • Leeds
    • Southampton
    • Everton
    • Watford
    • Burnley
    • Newcastle
    • Norwich
The three to drop come from this group

An interesting sub plot to this is the impact of the African Nations Cup on some teams. Thankfully we don’t miss any of our players, but others do, though most are for the teams above 11th place. However for this 6 week period, early in the new year, there is likely to be one or 2 strange results. I think only one of our EPL fixtures is against a possible affected side. MOT

Which could mean some of our rivals near the drop zone may get an easier game against Leicester as an example

One other thing thats different at the bottom this season, is the teams who have already said they are spending.
    Norwich
    Newcastle
    Villa
    Burnley
    Southampton
    Watford

newcastle will spend big but are already playing well under Eddie Howe. Norwich may not spend much but may fund it through player sales. New manager new way of playing, new manager at Watford and Villa and Dyche knows he needs to do something because they have gone backwards under the previous owners
