I’ll review it after this evenings visit with wife and daughter. She lives in London so may not be too overawed!

In HOH now had a pizza virtually the only food we could get ! Place was pretty packed. , good vibe and atmosphere unfortunately lots not manned or open so very confusing . Think they should have opened when all was in place. Not a single chav in sight all good upstanding folk never normally seen shopping in Hull. I really hope it survives and improves it will be a great afternoon early evening meet for workers , friends family etc. It’s a great looking building but may take a while to get its act in gear . I must say the lights and projections in ten for Xmas are decent , was in Leeds a week ago and they were sparse.

The video walkaround yesterday made it look like a dump. Hoping it is quite cool though and just a really bad video. Might have a wander tomorrow.

Well I am not so sure after last nights visit the foodstuffs to buy are massive in choice but the comment was it’s expensive, but then it isn’t Heinz! , lots of veggie food options LOL . There is drinks section with some amazing looking spirits , whiskies(bramble flavoured! ) . Great for gifts and deli type food choices . It’s up market to be honest for those a bit better off .
Might suffer from thieves there are random tills so you appear to be able to wander pick something up then disappear ! Maybe that will tighten up . If the clientele stay roughly the same , the chavs will stand out like a sore thumb , if they get access the place will go downhill , that’s not snobbishness it’s just what could happen .

Some people don't like it but Hull does have a middle class living in the leafy suburbs and villages who, for too long, have only shopped in the city centre as a minimum. Things like HoH, Bonus Arena and the Humber Street restaurants are pulling them back in, this is very welcome, we are all Hull.

Had that conversation this morning with two mates all from the leafy suburbs told them to get into town and see what there is like me and my wife . They moan about no shops but went to York and Leeds for the last twenty years ! We struggle but there are still some places just not enough . They moan about the shopping being spread out but years ago you did Hammonds and all the way to Whitefriargate and Bladons etc . Too many people are too idle

I went today, it's pretty good, though they were obviously having a few teething problems. We got a couple of coffees and sausage rolls, they took forever and even when they were made they were just left behind the counter and we had to ask someone to pass them to us before they were cold. The coffee and sausage rolls were excellent though.

I think they have a fundamental issue, in that there's loads of stuff in there in glass bottles and jars, this is fine if you've got a supermarket trolley, but not very practical if you're parked half a mile away. I think they need to set up some sort of collection point round the side, otherwise they're never going to sell more than a few items at a time.

Overall, it's a got a good feel to it and I hope they get the support they're going to need.

    I went today too
Not at lunchtime mind you when there were about 30 people queuing to get in!
    Nice feel to it.
We were only having a nosey really, but I can see your point about how much you could realistically carry to buy.

Does the 'middle class' still exist? Middle income yes, middle class, not so sure.

    Sorry

*I don’t actually decide when it opens, but I’m still empathetic with your plight

**Ive just been in again funnily enough, but don’t tell any of those that stormed away.

***Decent beer selection at the bar. Goose Island, Lowenbrau, Reveller Cider, Guinness etc

Agreed about the beer and the rest but if you aim to succeed get it right first time or early , put notices on the doors etc

    Keep hearing expensive
So what are the prices like?
