I feel duty bound to do a thread for you guise, but I won't be posting on it as I am actually at this game. Obviously, I expect a bloody performance. I wonder what Ralphy Rangnick has planned? Hopefully he has spotted that Sancho is better on the right and Rashford is better on the left. Ronaldo might be injured so I have one gutted 12 year with me if that's the case. I'll give you guise a wave.
Not an easy match and Palace under Vieira shouldn’t be taken for granted. But I would expect a narrow win. Just beware of the mass defence and quick counter via Zaha and Gallagher. Take our chances and cut the silly mistakes.
They can be good but they can also be equally ****e. Hopefully get the **** version tomorrow. We'll concede so I'm going for a three one win. I actually can't believe how much Gallagher has improved. Had him for a season at Swansea and you wouldn't think he'd become as good as he has.
I added Gallagher to my fantasy team this past week. But I’m benching him for this game because I expect a full performance from us. Enjoy the match live with your son, Chief! Don’t jinx us!!!
Not expecting too much from tomorrow but a win is essential. Only big differences i am looking for are team selection, players in their best positions and maybe defence and midfield closer together aboout 10-15 yards further up the pitch. Don't think we will see much difference in actual style of play because 2 or 3 training sessions is way too short of time for any change to sink in or be adequately implemented.
Palace are very organized. But there is spring in our players feet. I guess they are all looking to impress.
That was a good game to watch and I missed the first half. Lots of energy. We are still clumsy with players sometimes running into each other. But good progress is being made. The substitutions were also interesting to inject new energy into the attack. I expect Rangnick to start evaluating which players work best for the new system.
That first half was very good. Old traditional domination and pressure at home. Didn’t capitalise but the second half we were less pressing and they had 50% ofthe game but we got the goal. make of that what you will
Interesting fact: we’ve done well in the league against London clubs this season. But appalling against non London ones. West Ham, Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal, Palace.
Lidle just pointed out an interesting fact on the Spud board Fred has now scored more league goals this season than Kane and Messi combined
Was nice to see Elanga get some game time today, he looked good with the time he had. Looking forward to seeing more of Pellistri and Amad too in the near future (the future is bright ) Thought the first sub was probably wrong, i would have taken Rashford off and left Sancho on Rashford is still not back to his usual pace imo and it shows. All said it was a decent performance though and 3 points from what could have been a hard game with our recent home record.
That’s only the first game. So I’m sure people are not going to get carried away. The match wasn’t live on TV so I listened to a live radio commentary. It’s been years since I heard commentators talking about Utd being so dominant in that first half. It became more equal the second half. So far I can see why the pressing is great when the players work together. But I am worried about it when we play a better team. Once they break the press it’s almost a clear run to goal. And when you are on top, you just have to score otherwise you are knackered and vulnerable to a sucker punch. The players need training on the system and need to be 100% fit.
