Useful addition and would be handy in the championship if needs be. Cash plus Gayle deal?

Not bothered about what he's like in December, I'm more concerned at what he's like between Jan and May :emoticon-0102-bigsm

2 goals in the champ this season, 9 last season and 7 the season before. Hardly setting the world alight, like.

Not a good first signing and hardly a statement of intent.

I don't think making a statement is required. I mean really it's about plugging a few holes and stating up and then going fron there. I think there's people expecting them to sign all these fancy names but it's just not going to be possible with the clubs position facilities and the fact newcastle isn't an appealing place to move to anytime never mind in the middle of winter.

I have said many other players which would be good signings to help us that are not unreasonable.

But signing a dud championship player is not what I was expecting mate.

It doesn’t matter it won’t happen.

I dunno really, not sure what qualifies as a statement of intent.

Ousmane Dembele would be a marquee signing, but I don't see how taking the most expensive flop in Barcelona's history is such a statement of intent. Ditto Donny Van Der Beak, who can't get off the Man U bench.

Tarkowski from Burnley would be more a statement, as he's regular Prem, and does well in a crap team. We need another striker though, but a Stoke kid probably isn't the answer.

Is he a dud? Seems to have potential to me. He could do a job somewhere im sure.

We don't want to just spunk money names to say hey look at us... We need a solid prem side with hungry players that want to be here and prove themselves imo

Tarkowski would be a good start. Ake I would take also. Lingaard definitely. Vlahovic is the one I want from Fiorentina however I think that might be a far reach.

But Campbell for me i am not sure.

There is definitely a requirement to make some good "statement" signings if we want to guarantee our stay in the league this year.

Not Mbappe or that type but certainly a CB, a CM, another striker to compete/cover with Wilson. Like I say no need to go for Haarland etc but someone like Origi maybe off Liverpool, Donny van der Beek off Man U and Tarkowski off Burnley etc that kind of level to improve our squad.

Certainly not a young and inexperienced player from the Championship. If we are looking at youngsters I'd rather go loan someone of one of the big boys like City, Chelsea, Barcelona, Madrid, Bayern.

You leave big divock alone. He still needs to come off the bench to score the winner in the CL final for us this season.

Klopp "loves the boy" but hopes Origi finds a manager who plays him more than he does.

I'd take him in a flash, but he seems content to just do what he does sadly.
